When I started on mobile I just picked a CC with a funny name, not knowing what it entailed.  Still not well informed about them, but the one I am in doesn't seem very active.  Any tips on finding a good spot appreciated.

Depends on what you want out of the game and the club, Some clubs are all about Clash and Turf wars- Some offer a lot of advice for newer players, some are just active players who enjoy playing together- And some have all this.

And yes that club is pretty dead, lots of members but very few are active.

I agree with Chris's post. I would also consider those CCs that routinely advertise. I have friends in both "the Peoples Club" and "Simpatico Springs". Both seem to be good choices from my perspective as both have really gr8 folks in them.

I would just browse through some of the threads in the folder you posted this message. There are a number of clubs that have started threads in which they provide a lot of information about their clubs.

One club that comes to mind if you just want to have fun would be Majestic Mountain. If you want to play clash.. The Penalty Box.

The Peoples club is a good club. Robs Rebels... honestly, lots of great clubs out there.

He joined A Comfortable Club today. This is a very active club that offers everything he might want with plenty of knowledgeable members ready to help him. Also, the club is not so big that he would just feel like a number. I don't know how long we will have him though, with the onslaught of other club invites that he will surely get. If he goes then at least I know that I offered a good fit for him.

Hopefully he'll stay and give it time. Sounds like a fun club. Like you said... you offered a good fit.

I'm pleased that he followed some of the advice offered in this thread and did a bit of research. I've been part of several clubs, most of them were pretty good and offered different focusses. That said, there are some not so good clubs. I also belonged to one of those and it was a miserable time. What a CC advertises and what it delivers can be two very different things.

BogeyOne has been around and undoubtedly has the experience and knowledge needed to properly run a CC. I think this newbie will be in good hands. Just a matter of giving it a chance.

    good luck to all,

    Kenbo00:

If you want to play clash.. The Penalty Box.

And have hundreds on Discord App. With scores of rooms....with tips/helps, .... landing locations for every hole, ...a dedicated "Academy" server to interactively learn the game, and tons of us who gift CC Passes for folk to participate in the Clashes you mentioned.

    That's just a brief overview.

Good luck and have fun! 👍🍀👊

Great question you posted and some interesting responses.  (I know you are in a cc now and I hope you are happy.)

    Here are my thoughts:

First, find a cc at least level 4 right away so one has free putter and shot pal.  There is no contract so one can move on for better fit.

There are different kinds of clubs, in no particular order.

    1. Smaller clubs who are friends.

    2. Highly competitive clubs mostly TL or Champ +.

    3. Mostly mobile player clubs.  That is important if on phone or tablets and one likes multi-player games since WGT still does not support cross platform play.

    4. Clubs which emphasize Club Clashes and/or Turf Wars.  Expect to spend money to buy passes there.

    5. Clubs who are friendlier and open to different skill levels, but expect members to be active.

    6. Clubs that push use of Skype of Discord because they like to chat during games.

In categories 2-6, those can come in different sizes.

Black Diamond GC, which I am owner of (hate that term), is in #5.

Clubs to AVOID:  Inactive owner, lots of inactive players, lot of players showing as recruits (sign of inactive owner since only owner can change a player from recruit to member).

    Tom.
