A very simple idea for practicing, not the best, is just to set up a stroke or match game and do whatever you want without finishing your game.. the only bad side is that you have to go all the holes in a consecutive order, but you get your tournament speeds, you can send the ball around the green or into the rough and practice a bit.. and do some putting. You have about 10 shots in each hole, then go on to the next. Just don't post your final score, nobody wants a 46  or 50.. DON"T FORGET!!

    gk21al,

All I did was offer some ideas. I didnt say this was the stupidest thing WGT has ever done or anything like that. Also to those who say that you can practice your approach shots and putting or any moron can hit a drive. Blah blah blah. Ummmmmmmm, no you cant. As Andy has stated, hitting your approach shot onto standard greens as compared to tourny greens are 2 completely different animals. Im pretty sure they will get it to where you can choose tees and green speeds. I find this a very useful tool and Ill be glad to see the day when it can be used for all shots on all green speeds from all tier boxes.

I like this new feature. I haven't tried it yet as I just found it and currently am in a game. But I will be seeing what the fuss is all about. Now from what I gather from other posts I guess you tee off from tee's other than your own? Well, if that's the case then you could still practice certain shots from around the course. At least having this feature you now don't have to play through "x" amount of holes to practice a hole like the 5th or 17th. Now you can go right to it. I think that it has potential to be something great. Plus somebody new to the game I'm sure cold make use of this as it is. Not everything has to appeal to those of us that are higher in levels and tiers. However I do have a question. Why wasn't this announced in the news with everything else? Just curious.

edit- Ok. Just tried it. Played the 17th at Kiawah. (Love teeing off there) 156yds!? Really!? I don't even remember that tee being that close when I was a hack. I totally agree that it should default to your tiers tee's. So it has potential. Still like it though.

I liked your post MissouriDan, it was a good one .  You stated you liked it and you offered some very helpful ideas.  I was referring to the 2 ppl who called it useless and lame.  I just get tired of reading all the whining if you know what i mean.

Your post is a perfect example of how to express one's opinion and offer suggestions.  Now, if everyone could get on-board and quit complaining about everything wgt does.

I like how JeffGooch phrased it!

    JeffGooch:

    gk21al:
give it time maybe they will add more settings

Step one,  put it out there.

Step  two,  find out what's wrong with it.

    Step three,  make some adjustments

Patience everyone.  Along with some constructive criticism.

IMO, there are 2 schools of thought on WGT's role in the universe:

Some people see it as a benefactor, and we should be happy with whatever we get.

Others see it as a profitable business, where we are paying customers who have a right to make certain demands.

Whatever. I wasn't whining as much as the complainer about whining is whining. I think it would be great if the tees were set according to tier.
