Yes it was Callaway irons that I rented. I assume that's what you meant. Are you saying you were told by your club members that renting Callaway clubs can result in some kind of malware???

I won't go as far as I would call it "malware" but there's definitely some coding errors in regards to club equipping.

One solid evidence is when you go and play TopGolf (the driving range) immediately after changing your clubs, you're up there with the old clubs you used before the replacement. The quick fix is close and reopen the app, but to be 100% sure of removing the previous clubs' attributes, I clean up the caches (which requires you sign in again) or even delete the app, restart my smartphone / tablet and reinstall the app.

I know I said enough and should stop writing here at this point but...

If I were the head of WGT, I would set a specific period of time and make programmers do nothing but fix bugs & glitches as a top priority. From a long-term perspective, this would be much more helpful & lucrative for the business, rather than continuously launching some silly marketing-driven garbage (sorry if I hurt your feelings by calling it that way) that keep on screwing up the original codings and lead to even deeper bug & glitch disaster.

I was once told that the WGT balls have a chewy candy center...they dont.
