CRowan: Yes I know its as easy as changing the shot type but when I am 48 yards away with an elevation of 20 feet up, I dont even think about the game giving me a pitch, Im more concentrated on the shot.
Do you know the saying, "They are WGT, hope is futile"?
It's never good to hope for a change in the game - more often than not, they won't,and very scarcely do they listen to forum proposals.
May I suggest that you change your mindset instead?
Just assume that the caddie is 100% wrong and consider a shot routine that always starts at club selection and shot type! This is important to me within 100 yds of the green and on any other surface than fairway.
Also on the fringe: Always change putter scale!
This will certainly make your game more successful and more fun!
