I think I have posted this before but I dont see any mention of it and it has been a long time since I did post it, if I even did. Flash had the option to turn off the caddy. Every golf game I have played on computer, playstation, Xbox, has had some type of option to not have the game suggest clubs and shots, be it turn it off or set your setting to a harder level. It would be so nice if you would allow players to turn off the auto caddy in the game because the auto caddy isnt very smart. I've had distances of 60 yards and the caddy wants me to pitch, or Olympic 18 where I was 48 yards away and something like 20 feet up to the pin and it gave me a pitch. And the game I just finished playing where I was 18 yards from the pin, 12 yards from the edge of green, and the caddy suggested a chip. Yes I know its as easy as changing the shot type but when I am 48 yards away with an elevation of 20 feet up, I dont even think about the game giving me a pitch, Im more concentrated on the shot. Could you please give the option to turn off the auto caddy like we had in the flash version. I know it can be done.

When  Wgt tries to make you take a extra shot or loose a ball they will it's all about the money

You got that right. This is the second time I have sent in this suggestion.

Do you know the saying, "They are WGT, hope is futile"?

It's never good to hope for a change in the game - more often than not, they won't,and very scarcely do they listen to forum proposals.

May I suggest that you change your mindset instead?

Just assume that the caddie is 100% wrong and consider a shot routine that always starts at club selection and shot type! This is important to me within 100 yds of the green and on any other surface than fairway.

Also on the fringe: Always change putter scale!

This will certainly make your game more successful and more fun!

    lol

I've had the auto caddy give me a wedge off a tee shot on a hole 400+ yards and it even gave me a driver in the fairway lol

Would agree, but should comment that at times the caddy has saved me some grief. I’ve learned to think twice in situations where I calculate a shot and decide which club to use only to find the caddy recommending one club less. This usually occurs when the yardage is in that gray zone - a hard x or an underpowered y. I have found in those situations that selecting the lower club recommended by the caddy is the better choice.

But I will admit that the more frequent occurrence is when I would like to wring his neck especially when he plays the switch the club routine which happens exactly like this - caddy recommends 64° wedge; yardage calls for 60° wedge; change club; take the swing only to find out the caddy changed the club back to the 64° wedge. Only happens with these two clubs and almost always when the yardage is in the 65 - 68 yd range.

Thats another thing this auto caddy does, you switch clubs but the game thinks you have the original club. Example, hole 8 Pebble Beach, switch from driver to 3 wood, hit 3 wood 100% power and full back spin into a slight headwind, 3 wood goes over 300 yards. So anytime I change clubs or style of shot, I click it multiple times to make sure the game knows I have switched.

This used to happen with Flash occasionally. I've never had it happen with the New version, but in the last two days it's happened maybe a dozen times. Usually it's the driver/ wedge switch but I've also had the caddy change my 60 wedge back to a 80 after changing it myself. WTH is going on?.

On the Driver/Wedge change, I'd guess for a mouse wheel mess on the player's side.

Between clubs, I don't remember any error to the short side but frequently to the long side. It's minor between irons but becomes bigger between wedges. Frequently, I'm presented my 100 yds wedge even if the shot is 50 yds. The caddie will usually ignore my 75 yds wedge...

Yes I see this often, mostly when I move my mouse across the chair I play in. I have learned to double check every time now
