and don’t see why someone should go into a level where they know they can’t get to final round
Right, that was kinda my point- If a TL is having trouble making cut at -10 to -12 How do you think the "low" level players feel when there is no lower level for them to go because the low level is full of players much better.
How misleading talking about Veteran scores and the Rookie league. The low level players you're talking about don't need -10 or -12 to make the cut. In the Rookie leagues I've been in, one player at level par got through the qualifying round and three (of five) at -1 made the cut in the Elimination round. Whatever anyone who managed that scores in the final round they'll got at least a ball and 1k coins for their 10c entry.
As to me playing Rookie I'll give some of the other reasons (apart from not risking 100c on a buggy tournament that this is) even though I really couldn't care less (of course it's couldn't) what others think of them.
All three are a gamble so it's up to us if we want to gamble and, if we do, how much we want to spend doing that. I have never gambled 1,000c on entering a tournament nor will I. Even at the 100c level I don't think it's worth it when there's a chance of getting a +3. 10c with a chance of winning 400c and 9 balls, with some sort of prize easy to get is well worth it. The pay-out is proportionately much better in Rookie.
I like playing my own tees. On which, there's been a fair bit of talk about how folk like me are disadvantaging lower tiers playing in Rookie, well at least we're all playing off our own tees. If I have a lower tier tier player in my league elsewhere they don't get any yardage.
My impression from reading is that some would like Legend and up banned from Rookie. Two things on that; previous complaints on the Showdown have been about multi's and the field would be more open to them. Secondly there are many M and TM L100+ getting the advantage of equipment, yardage and, as they're often mobile players, good level apparel too. Actually splitting it by level makes as much (or little) sense as doing it by tier.
It's not a tiered competition. Lol the op (65 and 89) both played the Live Series May open, should the higher tiers pull out of that too?
