I would hope so as well.

However, keep in mind, despite WGT stating only one account per email address, many accounts have been suspended by WGT, alleging that it is a multi account, based solely upon having the same ISP address.

In some cases, WGT has requested proof of ID when disputing it suspension of accounts.

Be prepared to contest and explain (just in case).

isn’t the OP talking about having the same internet service provider?  (ISP)

Isnt the WGT problem with two people having the same device address?  (Different from same ISP)

So, as long as they don’t ever use each other’s devices (like only taking one on a vacation  or something), this couple should be okay.

It becomes a problem when the ISP connection were by one common device, a router.

With a wired internet connection like DSL or fibre optic network, all devices of the household would share the same (router) URL on the outside, and WGT might see and punish double usage when two users are online simultaneously.

I wouldn't see a problem if at least one mobile connection was used, resulting in different URLs.

For the OP, it might be sensible to ask WGT before being banned, which has been reported here a few times.

You can, but as has been said, I think you need to provide proof of some sort that it is 2 different players.  I was in a CC with a husband and wife players, and from what I remember it was a lot of hassle to prove they were 2 people from the same household.  Of course, if you were friends with WGTIcon then likely nothing would have been needed (RUNWME/Dianne81).

Many years ago, when Lizzie (LizzieRossetti) was in hospital she had a visit from some friends, and they ended up playing on WGT in the hospital that day (it was either a 3 or 4-ball).  Lo and behold, the next day, with no questions asked by WGT, all accounts except Lizzie's were banned for using the same IP address despite Lizzie trying to explain to WGT that it was in a hospital, and they would not reinstate them.  And I know at least one of the others was a real account because I used to play with one of them, and even played a 3-ball with that person and Lizzie before she became ill.  And I lost 50,000cr because I had given them (through MPC) for safekeeping in case I got banned.  Rather ironic!

I don't know if WGT's views have changed now, but I suspect you will need to provide some sort of proof.  Best option would be to send WGTNico a message and ask him for advice, it will be quicker than sending something to customer support.

    Thanks for that clarification.

Would the same be true if using one device as a “hotspot?”  Would think so.

I would say that if you play on a shared account . Try to get legit approval for this . Before they catch it and close it for good .

    Thanks for all the feedback...

I don't think I'm talking about a "shared account", She and I have separate accounts (different usernames and different email addresses) on separate pc's running off the same router. She is new to this and just wants to play single player stroke games. We have discussed playing each other in stroke play but have avoided doing so because we don't want to break any rules. We have also avoided logging into the game at the same time.

While I have been logged on to these forums typing this she played a round. Here's hoping that wasn't some kind of infraction! ..lol
