12/14 Update/Bug Fixes

  Hey everyone,

  we have some huge and exciting news to cap off 2022 in WGT. In the client update (the thing where you actually have to update your game) coming this week: we are bringing the game mode Match Play to all devices.

  Match Play

  • a mode where you compete to win the most holes in an exciting head to head match
  • you can create a game to play with friends or join a game to play against anyone across the world 
  • this mode is crossplay so you can play against those on PC
  • 2 player mode with options to play either practice or scored
  • play any courses available within WGT

  Friends UI

  • refer friends is back! Invite your friends to download WGT, if they use your referral code, they will receive a sleeve!
  • block players directly from in game instead of having to go through WGT.com
  •  cleaned up the play friends invite flow
  • only show online friends when inviting them to play

  New Travis Matthews Apparel

  • beanies
  • quarter zips
  • vests
  • and more!

  Showdowns

  • Abominable Showdown starting 12/14
  • Countdown Showdown starting New Years Eve
  • Arcade Showdown in January

  Miscellaneous

  • NYE apparel, keep an eye on the pro shop closer to the New Year!
  • WGT Live Series
  • fixed an issue causing players using the Titleist L101+ ball to not see the "buy more" prompt when they're out of balls
  • fixed an issue causing errors when loading the Awards section of a player profile
  • [mobile] Fixed an issue where the keyboard appears every time player opens chat

  Steam/Desktop, IOS, and Android client updates are all out and you can update your game to see everything reflected in the release notes!

  Match play on mobile is a bit disappointing. I have been looking forward to match play, skins, and best ball becoming available on mobile since 99.9% of my rounds are played on an iPad. Are there plans to make it just like PC so we can wager credits? If not, there’s minimal utility in the upgrade.

  We started with 2 player Match Play since 4 player modes could cause issues since a large part of it relies on the internet connections of the players in that game. We have no ETA on when the other modes will be coming to mobile/tablets. We still have to do quite a bit of testing on those

  Challenges will be coming to match play eventually. One of the biggest reasonings we wanted to hold off on adding challenges day 1 was just in case if there were any critical bugs with match play. That would lead to a major issue of credits being lost and myself/customer support being overrun with messages. Also with the holidays rapidly approaching, responses could be a bit more delayed so it was safest to keep challenges out for the time being.
