I am equipped with the Cally Apex iron set (L85). I plan to replace the starter hybrid with another wedge.

I am looking for suggestions for which wedge I should add (and why?)...

    I currently have a Cleveland 64 degree (L80 - 60 distance) and a Cleveland 56 degree (L76 - 100 distance).

Personally, I'd add a 60 degree, which are usually rated at 80 yards. Splits the distance nicely between the 60 and 100 yard ratings. It's what I carry, and have for a long time.

This wedge fits in the gap between your 56° & 64°.  I think the Clevelands at that level have been renamed Titleist Vokey. The stats of this one should match the wedges you already have.

People usually go for the matching Cleveland/Vokey 56°(100 yards), 60° (80 yards), & 64° (60 yards) at that level or the Callaway 56° (100 yards) & 60° (75 yards) and MAX Meter 64° (50 yards) since there isn't a matching 64° Callaway. I think having matching meter speeds on the wedges is a priority for most players. It is for me.

Keep the 64 degree but go with the current version of 60 and 56 degree Callaway wedges. They have a slightly more forgiveness than either the Clevelands or the Vokey's . I had the top Cleveland wedges but switched to the PM grind which was the current Callaway wedges when I bought mine. I am very happy with them The Jaws Full toe is the current Callaway wedges.

Great Discussion and fits perfect with my question for the Pros. What wedge would you recommend to put between (1) a 115 yard 52deg callaway Jaws L 94. AND a 50 yard 64deg Max Mete L 91. The “ ONLY “ two choices are the. 100 yard Callaway Jaws full toe 56deg L95 OR the Callaway Jaws full toe 75 card 60 deg L96????

Note: I am wanting to keep all my clubs at 4.5 meter speed, Thanks and looking forward to many professional opinions. As I am not sure,

You really should have skipped buying the L94 52° Callaway because its distance is so close to the PW of your irons set.  Having both the Callaway 56° and the 60° would be better.  If I could pick just one of those, I think I'd get the 60°. Going with the 56° leaves a bigger gap than I would like between that club and your 50 yard 64° wedge.

Ok, I agree on should have thought more about 53deg, I never considered how close it was to my PW. I am committed to my 64deg max meter 50 yard yard wedge. Since it is mapped really good and my go to wedge in Greenside bunkers, flops and pitches close to green, so you are thinking the 60deg to go between my 52 and 64. Thanks and hopefully others experts will chime in also.

I just noticed you already have the MAX Meter 75 yard wedge.  Do you also have the MAX Meter 100 yard wedge in your inventory?  I'd save the Callaway 52° wedge for par 3 courses and CTTH.  I think a 100/75/50 configuration will do you more good than having the 52° wedge in your bag.  If you have the MAX Meter 100 yard wedge, I'd say get the 75 yard L96 Callaway.  If you don't have the MAX Meter 100 yard, I'd say get the 100 yard L95 Callaway. If you have the credits, I'd say get the Callaway 100 yard and 75 yard wedges, and use those along with your MAX Meter 50 yard wedge. That's what I use.

I'm also interested in hearing what advice other, more experienced, players have to offer.

My lowest Rogue iron is 120 yards, so I normally carry the Max meter 50, 75, and 100 wedges (no hybrid).  They punch at 41, 62, and 83, so coverage of distances is great.  I also have a 110 wedge that I sub in for my driver for par 3’s and CTTH.  But it doesn’t get used much even in those venues.

I do not use apparel that changes my wedges.  Beware of that!
