The difference and benefit is extreme.  You just have to go trough the monthly earnings list to realize this.

The Calls are that much better than what you are using. If you don't have money for Calls play the Srixons, or my cheap ball is the GISDs.

TBF I prefer the Call s balls. The spin is more useful than a few extra yards off the tee.

Be careful of the spin though. You only need to touch the bs most of the time. The Call spin balls sometime bs a little with no bs applied.

Strangely, I have noticed less spin with my tour burners recently. Many long ironed shots I have put 50% bs on and they have hit the green short of the flag and run on four/five yards past. It wouldn't be fair to say that the R11 introduction has had anything to do with that, would it.

TBF. I have noticed this on a couple of full STA games, a course that I haven't played so much recently. Maybe, that's the performance on there compared to other courses.

Get the Callaway S ball not the Z. It's cheaper, too.

    TeeWade:
Monthly earnings list will give me the extra yardage amounts?    lol

the point being that they all use them for a reason.   I recently switched from (s) to (z) and the (z)'s are much better.   And its for one simple reason, more hole outs.   You apply to much spin on the (s) and you miscalculate or miss ding, you will tend to end up way short.   At times the spin will hurt you, were as the (z) will tend to roll out a tad, giving you a better shot at a hole out!

Bogeybuster is bang on correct, the 'z' is a great ball, and half the time you never need to aplly BS. Once you start moving the dot you are adding another variable in to the mix, you don't need it.

Even better is The Legend + lvl55 calaway, i got these free when the offer was on last month.

I don't know what your tier / level is but if you are still learning , then I recommend the Vapour ball which will show you how much the ball moves both in flight and on the putting green.

Level 88 TM and thank you's for the replies all.   Any comments on whether I should go ahead and start using them now or just wait and add it to the mix when Legend comes. Currently at 65.12 and steadily going down  :)

From my point of view, as a crappy tour pro who can't putt to save his life, they are an excellent ball.  My average has dropped from 80+  to 75.76 this month.    I hope to hit 72/73 by the end of the year.   I play for fun and didn't realise just how much of a difference better balls would make to a non golfer!!

Now if only I could learn to putt better.
