I prefer the Srixon spin ball over the Callaways for 2 reasons. # 1 you get a little more control  over the spin. #2 they cost 70 credits less per sleeve. There are quite a few balls that will give you better distance than the GI3-S balls the Tour-SD the tour GI-SD the Tour GI-S ball. the meter is a bit faster with them but it is manageable.

Regardless of which ball you go for,  the most important thing you can do is to pick one and stick with it. All of the Callaways perform great but you have to know that messing with the spin on any of them is going to cause you grief if you miss or don't pay attention to the landing conditions. The best way to use whatever you pick is to learn how all of your clubs play without using spin.

I use the (s) ball with the R11s. I know what it does with all of the clubs and use spin sparingly. I could have used any of the others but the difference between all of them is not enough to warrant spending more than the cheapest ones cost. Learning what your equipment does with them is more important than which ball to use.

    PeterHopper:

The Calls are that much better than what you are using. If you don't have money for Calls play the Srixons, or my cheap ball is the GISDs.

TBF I prefer the Call s balls. The spin is more useful than a few extra yards off the tee.

Be careful of the spin though. You only need to touch the bs most of the time. The Call spin balls sometime bs a little with no bs applied.

Strangely, I have noticed less spin with my tour burners recently. Many long ironed shots I have put 50% bs on and they have hit the green short of the flag and run on four/five yards past. It wouldn't be fair to say that the R11 introduction has had anything to do with that, would it.

TBF. I have noticed this on a couple of full STA games, a course that I haven't played so much recently. Maybe, that's the performance on there compared to other courses.

Get the Callaway S ball not the Z. It's cheaper, too.

I too have noticed the lack of stick,on the Burners and I use Full BS almost on every shot, excluding my Cleveland Wedges those you have to baby. I use the Callaway S ball

Let me add my twopence worth to those that say the Burners don't stick. I rented the R11's last week and now I'm back with my burners, the difference in stoppability is very noticeable.

They were good when i first had them, but not so any longer.

I remember posting about stopping a 175 yard shot dead on #17 Standys over the bunker, now I can't do it.

Got rid of my last 2 Callaways Zs by hitting them into the weeds now, the first was a mistake, the second did it on purpose.
