They suspend play on the tour when the winds prevent the ball from staying at rest on the green. We don't have to worry about that here, nor do we have to worry about gusts so much - the jiggling f the arrow, yes, but not gusts.
And besides, the worst part in playing in high winds has nothing to do with how the ball travels. Simply trying to execute a golf swing in conditions that make standing a bit of a challenge has to be pretty difficult - not that I know empirically, but still - that HAS to be true. If you are unbabalanced, you can't strike the ball well. We don't have to worry about that here either.
So really, if all we have to consider is the flight of the ball - what exactly is the problem?
In a golf tournament, the early groups go out and have one set of conditions - the afternoon group may have a totally different set of conditions. Just think about the open at RSG this year - not everyone had to play in the rainy conditions - The later groups didn't see the rain at all on day 2 or 3 (can't remember)
So really, what is so unrealistic about two different players having different winds on the same hole here?
