I disagree... a miss by a hair does not equal a shank-.

You're right, the majority of the time. Bogey's point is further understood by calling your shot the worst possible deviation, that which hits the outermost part of the circle. It's the only way to believe it or explain the ridiculousness of the result.

There is NO DOUBT in my mind that this game knows when you have a good round going... particularly in Ready-Go's...  It doesn't happen EVERY time, but pretty damn close.  Tonight I'm -6 through 6 holes, nothing spectacular, just a steady round.. the last 12 holes the wind is against on ALL of them.. 3 putts lipped out... 3 holes I had ZERO chance of hitting the green in regulation..  what a joke...

lol... sorry for laughing, yes the game does Know, I agree.  Another annoying thing.. I played St.A back9, on the 16th hitting with a huge tailwind and playing the 2nd shot, I could see the 17th tee and thinking, yess, a tailwind for the 17th. Birdied the 16th..the 17th huge headwind...lol.

Or the last putt you make in the round.. if the game slightly stalls after you click the putt, you know you have made it... if it doesn't stall and putts straight away, then you have missed it...lol

This is for the game to accumulate the info and set up the challenges you see after the game. It happens even if you have the end of game notifications disabled.

Just curious... does the wind always blow DEAD into everyone else on EVERY stinking par 5?  Is it possible to get, oh, I don't know, a freaking CROSSWIND even?  Every effing RG...  par 5... 20 mph win against.. book it... WTF?????

I think I remember a post by WGTNIV awhile back.  He mentioned that if the useful remaining life of your ball is in the red, there is a greater likelihood of having a larger deviation.

I bring this up because of witnessing some odd behavior from my nearly expended Calloway last night.  Like previous posters above, a narrowly mishit ball would end up in places of the golf course I did not expect to find it.  This is just my observation and opinion and not the opinion of WGT.

    Regards,

Interesting... However, I do recall the 'lost' ball was almost brand new... I had gotten the prompt earlier in the round that I was on my last ball and to buy more.  So the ball was only 4-5 holes old.

The next time I played that hole I was still thinking about the 'bad' shot, and actually made a HORRIBLE swing and was about as late as you can be... and the ball ended up in the middle of the fairway...  I know when a ref makes a bad call in a game, they give a makeup call.. Maybe WGT has this feature?  :)

OK, seriously, what the hell is up with this game and the RG's lately?  Been playing for years, and have never seen anything like this... dinged shots that are WAY off line??  Congressional #12,  4mph wind directly at me, I ding the shot and it's 22 feet left of the hole... HUH?????    same thing on the previous hole... minor breeze, dead into me.. 'DING'.. ball ends up 20 feet right... these shots are offline as soon as they leave the club.... what the hell already?????

Actually, nevermind.. I figured it out... it's because I started on 10 and had the AUDACITY to make an eagle on the very first hole!  I'd forgotten that... my bad..
