This is only my conclusion from what i've noticed and wrote down, (maybe its a coincidence) its up to you to decide.  Any way, what i've noticed is when i enter ready go's which are quite empty, less than 20 or so, i always score well, the average for 10 rounds which i noted down was 59 (all ready go's in which were not filled past 20).  I also jotted down the ready go's i had entered after 30 had entered, the average's of these ready go's varied between 64 and 61(best), but half were withdrawn from due to shots not being right (deviation probably, things like 100 wedge in 14 mph tailwind going 96 yards etc, etc)

So my conclusion is when I enter tournaments early, i hardly get any noticeable deviation, but when i am late entering, its like all the best score's have all ready been "allocated" so this is when you get more deviation than usual.  But, i mean a BIG BUT, It might be just a coincidence, but its what i found after writing down 10 results of each, early and late entrance.

C'mon guys, he was sincere. BB's post was hysterical and really appropriate but everybody knows how Chris is and I was impressed at how calmly he laid out his thought. It was OK until the allocation thing, anyway.   :-D

You  know i think Chris might have something,  I have no problem with the consistency of my drives, and approach shots, I can almost bet the farm on where they are going to go, now my point is if I found the system for that, and then I find a system for figuring out the breaks on the greens, but the green system is not consistent somebody or something is controlling it .

Call me crazy, but that's my opinion.

P.S. Wouldn't that VEM thing affect all shots and not just putts?

I came across this link  in another thread thanks to Soulcatcher and reread WGTNiv's post. If you read it and think about what Chris is pointing out, he really isn't that far off. It just isn't about the actual scores but the shots used to get them.

An interesting part of the post...........

" The shot data is spread out amongst all users, so there will be times when you run into a lot of "edge cases" (aka deviations, aka outside edge of the precision circle) and times where you seemingly can't miss the center (even when you mishit).  This is the ebb and flow of the game and it's always been there."

What if this scenario is tailored to individual RGs?
