Funniest thing... I was playing alt shot with a guy with a big mouth, similar to the above post. He was several tiers below me, but was running his mouth about how they (alt shot) were going to kick our butts. He was using starter equipment, but on SA had gotten good enough to run the ball quite well on the links course. Long story short, we get to the last hole, I make a 15' putt for par. It's his shot, he has a 1' putt to tie the match (we are 1up). He MISSES from 1' on hole #9 at SA to LOSE the match. Moral of the story: The golf gods hate hubris. Careful what checks your mouth writes in case your @$$ can't cash them.
