    I have had some ugly results from flagstick hits also. The way I solved it?  Pull the flag if you think there is any chance in hell you may hit it !     Works for me.

    on most shots that hit off the flag that hard.Pulling the stick would have no effect ..

    just make the flag stick like it is on the greens and then you won't have to worry bout pulling it. I know I don't give a crap about how many flag sticks I hit, but on the other hand some people love to see how many they can hit, just not an important stat to me though.
