After the Oakmont debacle - 11 days and counting so far I was hoping for a more inviting 2K tourney - and what do WGT come up with -  high winds and champ greens at Kiawah, I know its not going to concern you but you won't be getting my money again this week

Have you considered the possibility you might get people entering if they feel they might win something and have fun playing - not just battle round 18 holes of golf to probably post a score that will win little or nothing

high winds and champ greens is a challenge i'm sure most ppl relish...only downside is the fact it's kiawah (not a fan) ...

I still give it a go as i get bored of the low stakes RG's very easily now and don't pay much attention to detail...

kiawah is def a different ball game in champ greens, especially if you find yourself above the hole like i did on #8...impossible 2 putt never mind 1 putt :)

good to see variety but personally would like to see CCC full 18 set at 2K

I know its personal choice steve, but I'm not a fan of high winds and champ greens - especially for the big bucks.

I've just played the best of front 9 500 credit tourney - birdie, eagle, birdie, then nothing went right, 29mph side wind on the 180 par 3 - I'm usually ok with that but I ended up 18 yards right, I hit a 29 headwind on the par 5, I couldn't even make the rough to the right of the fescue thats usually an option, the long par 4 20+ headwind, not even reaching the green in 2, the last hole my driver hit the bunker at 245 yards into a 14 headwind

And for me, this is the reason high winds are unfair - someone else would have been on both greens in 2 shots going for eagle, birdie, and with deviation my good start went to s**t

I don't usually moan about individual shots or rounds - yes I will always come out and say that I would like set winds for all, but I withdrew from the st andrews 500 - I had shots where the wind didn't take at all, a 19yd flop onto a level green with full bs that went 26 yds and the clincher a 7 yard chip onto a rising  green that went 13 yards

I know its not a fair comparison - but I used to play links 99 - 2003, and I did like the fact that if I played a shot there were no 'external game induced' factors basically saying - well yes that was perfect and should land 3ft from the pin, but hey, this isn't fair and we're introducing variables to stop that happening

Why don't you tell me what settings you prefer and I'll see what I can do about that. I do take requests once in a while :)

Just remember, everyone else will have the same settings:)

I don't think high winds are fair - we have thrashed that out lots of times so it comes down to personal preference, but to put them with champ greens on a course that has some really awful greens on it seems to put the 'lottery' factor on a tournament.

I know the high roller RG's were taken really well, and I'm a lover of them in the main, but Oak for example as I said, its too easy to be +3 after the first two holes, and that will put people off playing in it for $20, its not so bad in a $1, they can shrug and say ok my bad.

I like a mix - I like your idea of legends playing shorter tees, I like slower greens - just for the difference in game play, it can be as bad playing on a slow green as a champ green in some cases.

I'm not posting anything personal Icon so I hope it didn't come over that way, if it did I'm sorry - I'd like the bigger RGs to fill up quicker, and I think the only way to do that is to make them more appealing and fun, like I said for some people oakmont high winds and champ greens, well they would rather sit on sharp sticks than do 18 holes of that

You're always looking for ways to make this experience better, I think we know that, just sometimes it seems (to me) you also like to make it harder

High winds are why I don't play high stake RGs unless it's 500 but that's not really considered a high stake IMO. I don't mind championship greens at all though. High winds are a whole other bag of worms. Luck of the draw is a huge worm.

I entered the BRP 18 hole 1k last week. High winds. I've played BPB with high winds numerous times and have never struggled as bad as I did in that round. I WD'd by the 12th hole. Just for fun I went and played it a couple more times as a practice round with high winds and never could replicate the same crap I had in the tourney.

Other players love the high wind high stake tourneys and do well in them. They are also MUCH better players than me. But Forest is right, you start making high stake low wind tourneys and you'll see the turnaround time almost double.

I am always looking for some feedback on these. Idea is not to make them HARD but to keep them different and interesting so they fill up faster. Sometimes settings will be hard, other times easier. Reason we do legends often from short tees is because it's linked to 1 tier, so fair for all -wgticon

variety is always good.  the Cabo 1k from the short tees is a lot of fun, so some more like that would be welcome.  playing the different tee boxes gives us (especially the legends) a different look, and the courses require a lot more thinking about where to go off the tee). some ideas:

St Andrews - front tees, champ greens, high wind.  low scores would be attainable, but it would still be tricky.

Oakmont - middle tees, tournament greens, low wind

BTW, I don't know how realistic this would be to add into a future update, but is there any chance of adding a feature that occasionally moves the tees up on 1-2 holes while keeping the others the same?  It would follow what the USGA has been doing in recent years where they make 1-2 par 4's easily reachable on some days.  it might be a way to add some variety without having to make many changes to the courses we already have.

I'm not going to risk $20.00 in a high winds RG. All you need are 3-4 holes of heavy head wins and you have zero chance of winning any thing. I know this hoarse has been beaten to death a half a dozen times but I think you need to do something to make the Rg's with heavy winds fairer.

I prefer the 9 hole courses for 2k or now for 50k.  Havent seen any of those in a long time...
