Personally, I am thankful for the gesture. I do not take the game very seriously like some, and my abilities are far from that of the elite on this site. I am grateful for the gift and wish the staff of WGT a Merry Christmas.
In response to the debate that has surfaced in this thread, I do get the OP's point. I am not a business person, however, I think my take is pretty accurate. The "gifting" of a ball has no cost to WGT. Sure, someone is not playing a "paid for" ball, but they can think of it as someone playing a round with a free WGT ball, which are unlimited. There really is no cost to them. I guess, my thought, and a possible suggestion to WGT, would be that in the future, gift a sleeve of the best ball you currently offer. Perhaps gift it and roll it out at the same time. The thought being, that giving a couple rounds with the latest and greatest, probably would entice many who probably wouldn't purchase, to purchase, after being able to use them and then run out. Every business I know does this with new products. That is how a brand gets built.
At any rate, thank you again WGT for the gift. I appreciate it a lot. I thank you all for your efforts in making this the place we lose ourselves for a time during the year. Merry Christmas to everyone at and on WGT. You make my experience here a wonderful one.
