And to provide more incentive.  Lets you reach an accumulated point value that achieves a level of the Platinum award.  All of sudden one decides, now I quit more rounds, but, the award could be taken away, then he/she is at the gold level.  Thus, the incentive is still there.

Hmm... but that seems to confirm what I said about imprecision, potentially misleading, etc... You've just admitted, Infinito, that someone who "starts quitting their rounds" could still be the holder of a Gold award. An unsuspecting new WGT user, when for the first time encountering such a player sporting a Gold award, would assume he/she is no quitter... although in fact he/she is.

In contrast, the reputation tracking feature would always reflect with 100% precision whether someone is or isn't a quitter (within the last X multi-player rounds played).

Interesting, if one has a conscious after achieving such level, hence one strive to achieve a higher level.  Wouldn't they.

    Addendum:

Just thought of something.  Question and or observation that came across my mind is the following.  What would a player rather see when they play a multiplayer round.  The award, lets say Platinum with 1250 pts or a reputation system of 85%.

Not necessarily. People's motivations are often inscrutable. This would especially apply to Pro tier players, I suspect. One day, it might be important for someone to have a high "multi-player points ranking", while on another day, the desire to achieve the Master tier thanks to quitting bad rounds might prevail, making the points total less precise and more misleading.

Whereas the reputation tracking can be always 100% precise, independently from a player's motivations.

Motivation of individual will always be consistent.  Its part of their chi, regardless of what others may think.  A player will quit regardless of their ranking and or average, no matter what system is utilized.  Thus, implementing a system that provides an award thus incentive may improve ones overall motivation.

Reputation tracking could be considered a negative, and what you want to promote is a positive.

    Infinito3010:

Huh?    I believe the exact opposite is true. Any person's motivations are fluid and malleable; what's important for us today, may turn out to be irrelevant tomorrow.

    Infinito3010:

You're correct! However, once the reputation tracking is implemented (correctly!), it will allow us to avoid those who frequently quit their rounds. That's all this is about: the reputation ranking is being introduced not for the benefit of those who quit, but for the benefit of those who don't, so that we may better avoid quitters.

This debate is pointless, have a nice day. Bye,  I hope your reputation tracking system, promotes a positive.

This horse has been beaten, literally, not to death but into complete oblivion. Seriously, how many times are you going to post the same argument about reputation tracking and a so called "flawed system"? It's gotten overly tiresome.

If someone posts about quitters, can you not simply let it lie? Could you not just post politely to see another thread on the subject?

WGT will make their decision, hopefully for the best.

Until then, get over it, PLEASE.

I agree this has been beaten to death, but, it is worth while to present different alternatives.

I agree with Infinito. His proposal gave a novel twist to this debate, so it was worth examining the potential pluses and minuses of that proposal.

Besides, GolfDum, I'd love to point the reader(s) to a thread on quitters where the issue has already been thoroughly examined, but there's no such central thread in these forums, unfortunately. Instead, we have hundreds of separate, redundant threads on quitters. And things won't get any better in this regard, until either the issue itself is resolved, or a forum moderator merges all the quitters threads into one, ensuring that no other threads are set up on the same topic (merely rehashing what has been discussed hundreds of times before).
