    SgtDoodles,

Sorry to hear that but please ensure you follow the rules governing this situation.

    "

If the player disconnects during play he should report to golfseeker as soon as practicable. If he does so and golfseeker considers his reason satisfactory, there is no penalty. Otherwise, the player is disqualified."

(ii) Make sure that ALL the previous scorecards have been uploaded showing all players in the game to be present at the time of disconnection (in other words the previous hole scores were saved and not overwritten) The player/s can then start scoring from the point of the disconnection

We were on 10 green when I had enough of this torment..

This means that you were NOT disconnected and chose to end the game . Albeit a slow connection.

The rules (as you agreed when registering clearly state :-

After each hole the player should check that all players are shown on the scorecard BEFORE screensaving any card.  On completion of the round (f9 & b9) the player must save the score cards and upload it immediately upon completion of the game to the appropriate forum thread for golfseekers. All players must records the scores, all must upload in the same way. ALL cards must be seprarately marked  on the golfseekers forum thread relating to the competition name and round/week number and format played. It is not acceptable to play 2 separate 9 holes. (unless a disconnection causes it) Players must complete the entire round in one visit assuming no disconnections occur

The player must not discontinue play unless:

    .

    (i) Golfseeker has suspended the game;

    .

    (ii) Disconnection has occured;

    .

(iii) There is some other good reason such as sudden illness.

If the player disconnects during play he should report to golfseeker as soon as practicable. If he does so and golfseeker considers his reason satisfactory, there is no penalty. Otherwise, the player is disqualified.

This Clearly wasn't the case as you have admitted openly above. Your playing partner was not at fault as he was prepared to play the entire game as set out in the rules.

Your scorecard is classed as a no return. and subsequently means DQ

I regret having to take this action with the very first card submitted, but I must be seen as consistent with the rules as set out to be fair to all players involved.

Sriley13 You may continue with your round (with another player in GS Open -  you may "mark" front 9  and continue scoring from the 10th tee)

Lets hope this isn't the trend!

Drop me from this tournament then.. Tired of this

    Thanks in advance - Don

Since I was logged out I couldn't save the scorecard. Nigyrob did. Can we carry on on holes 17 and 18?

    Reminder

Please remember that ALL players must upload scorecards (not just one player from a group)

    Thanks

Some good scores in so far , It is stableford so don't be put off by seeing some low scores. At the moment only  3 points separates  the top 4 or 5

GS OPEN WEEK 1 - BETHPAGE BLACK

Firstly sorry for posting this scorecard so late, I went out right after the round and only got home not so long ago ! Also sorry about the bad pic of the front 9 scorecard with part of it being blocked over by the start menu, silly me !   Also I forgot to save it until after the 15th hole so I hope it's okay crazyman !

It was a very unlucky day for my fellow Aussie mate suncity with so many putts grazing the edge of the holes or pulled up inches short !  I thought he played very well from tee to green (86% and 94% if i remember correctly !) and deserved a much lower score.

For me it was one of those round that happens once in a blue moon where the putts went in instead of hovering on the edge or just simply lip out !  The key to this round was consistent driving, good distance control on the approach shots and of course lady luck was well and truly on my side !

Thanks suncity for a fun round and I really enjoyed the chat we had, always good to hang out with another Aussie ! :-)

This is precisely why the rules state that saving cards on a hole by hole basis is the safest method to ensure that you don't suffer a DQ

Luckily Nigyrob has uploaded a card showing the situation. so you may complete holes 17 & 18 PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING to avoid disappointment

    What is THE Golden Rule?

The golden rule is a formula that prevents loss of recorded scorecards in the event of any player suffering disconnections, or is involved in a game when an opponent abandons the game.

    How does it work?

When you commence play. you will need get into the habit of screensaving EVERY hole that you and your opponent/s play. A screenshot will automatically be sent to your clipboard. ( The clipboard can only hold ONE screenshot at a time - it will overwrite if you screenshot again so please be aware of this- MAKE SURE ALL PLAYERS SHOW ON SCORECARD BEFORE screensaving a hole).

Continue this process of screenshotting each time you see your scorecard. until you get to the 9th Hole.  When you have completed the 9th screenshot (final card for front 9) you MUST then SAVE the screenshot

Do the same screensaving process with the BACK 9

You continue as before , screenshotting every hole from 10 through to 18  and then SAVE  once you have got the scorecard showing the final card.

DO NOT exit the scorecards shown on your WGT screen. Check first that your files are saved on your computer

If they are saved  it is safe to exit the WGT scorecards screen.

    What does this achieve?

If a player lets say was having a bad day or was disconnected  or another valid reason was prevented from continuing, and you had only completed 6 holes, and it happened on the green at the 7th hole.  You would under the original way of doing things be left without any record of scores.  By applying 'The Golden Rule' You have a record of the event. you would simply save the screenshot from the time of the game finishing at the 6th hole. You now upload the scorecard (showing the holes completed to that stage. (MAKE SURE ALL PLAYERS SHOW ON SCORECARD BEFORE screensaving a hole).

    SCORECARD REQUIREMENTS

We MUST receive scorecards from ALL players participating in a game.

It is no good relying upon your opponents to send in 'your scores'  It is not acceptable.and can result in either a no return or disqualification

The reasoning of having all holes recorded is for Stableford competitions and also other competitions that require 'countback' and also for handicapping purposes.   It is also useful for analysis that will be shown on the site for your individual performances.

    Who can mark my scorecard?

You can play with ANY GS Open registered player that has already completed thier round in the event you are playing. You CANNOT play with another member of WGT that is not involved in the GS Open

For a step by step guide on screensaving scorecards/uploading etc  and a video on a screensaving program made easy  please click HERE

What if someone keep abandoning when having a bad round?

The reasoning behind 'The Golden Rule' is to try and prevent this happening. However, if we see constant offenders, They will be disqualified from the entire competition/tournament.

By markers and opponents sending in scorecards showing the offenders performance will highlight any discrepencies. A marker would have given up his/her time to assist, and if we allow players to walk off when they felt like it, those markers would be reluctant to come forward and offer their generous time if persistent offenders were allowed to simply 'get away with it'.

I understand that different comps have different rules, Golfseeker has always adopted this policy and will continue to do so. It assures us when verifying scores and is needed for the in-depth analysis and stableford reqauirements

SCORECARDS MUST BE RETURNED BY ALL PLAYERS IN EVERY GAME

    (for cross referencing purposes)

Do not rely on your opponent to upload your scores. Upload your own card at all times
