SgtDoodles: Since I was logged out I couldn't save the scorecard.
This is precisely why the rules state that saving cards on a hole by hole basis is the safest method to ensure that you don't suffer a DQ
Luckily Nigyrob has uploaded a card showing the situation. so you may complete holes 17 & 18 PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING to avoid disappointment
What is THE Golden Rule?
The golden rule is a
formula that prevents loss of recorded scorecards in the event of any
player suffering disconnections, or is involved in a game when an
opponent abandons the game.
How does it work?
When you commence play. you will need get into the habit of screensaving EVERY
hole that you and your opponent/s play. A screenshot
will automatically be sent to your clipboard. ( The clipboard can only
hold ONE screenshot at a time - it will overwrite if you screenshot
again so please be aware of this- MAKE SURE ALL PLAYERS SHOW ON
SCORECARD BEFORE screensaving a hole).
Continue this process of
screenshotting each time you see your scorecard. until you get to the
9th Hole. When you have completed the 9th screenshot (final card for
front 9) you MUST then SAVE the screenshot
Do the same screensaving process with the BACK 9
You continue as before , screenshotting every hole from 10 through to 18 and then SAVE once you have got the scorecard showing the final card.
DO NOT exit the scorecards shown on your WGT screen. Check first that your files are saved on your computer
If they are saved it is safe to exit the WGT scorecards screen.
What does this achieve?
If
a player lets say was having a bad day or was disconnected or another valid reason was prevented from continuing, and you had only completed 6 holes, and it happened on the
green at the 7th hole. You would under the original way of doing things
be left without any record of scores. By applying 'The Golden Rule'
You have a record of the event. you would simply save the screenshot
from the time of the game finishing at the 6th hole. You now upload the
scorecard (showing the holes completed to that stage. (MAKE SURE ALL
PLAYERS SHOW ON SCORECARD BEFORE screensaving a hole).
SCORECARD REQUIREMENTS
We MUST receive scorecards from ALL players participating in a game.
It
is no good relying upon your opponents to send in 'your scores' It is
not acceptable.and can result in either a no return or disqualification
The
reasoning of having all holes recorded is for Stableford competitions
and also other competitions that require 'countback' and also for
handicapping purposes. It is also useful for analysis that will be
shown on the site for your individual performances.
Who can mark my scorecard?
You
can play with ANY GS Open registered player that has already completed thier
round in the event you are playing. You CANNOT play with another member
of WGT that is not involved in the GS Open
For a step by step guide on screensaving scorecards/uploading etc and a video on a screensaving program made easy please click HERE
What if someone keep abandoning when having a bad round?
The
reasoning behind 'The Golden Rule' is to try and prevent this
happening. However, if we see constant offenders, They will be
disqualified from the entire competition/tournament.
By markers
and opponents sending in scorecards showing the offenders performance
will highlight any discrepencies. A marker would have given up his/her
time to assist, and if we allow players to walk off when they felt like
it, those markers would be reluctant to come forward and offer their
generous time if persistent offenders were allowed to simply 'get away
with it'.
I understand that different comps have different rules, Golfseeker has always adopted this policy and will continue to do so. It assures us when verifying scores and is needed for the in-depth analysis and stableford reqauirements
SCORECARDS MUST BE RETURNED BY ALL PLAYERS IN EVERY GAME
(for cross referencing purposes)
Do not rely on your opponent to upload your scores. Upload your own card at all times
