DISCLAIMER: This tournament is not sponsored by, or organised by WGT.
This tournament is for Legend tier players only.
Overview:
Here is your chance to represent your country along with a partner. There are no credits to lose and so much to win. There will be qualifiers to decide the 32 countries competing and the pairings for those countries, then there will be a finals tournament to decide the winners.
The Qualifiers - How It Works
There are 10 different qualifying tournaments, where the top 100 (or 200/300) earn points. The following tournaments are qualifying tournaments:
Week 9, 10, 11 and 12 18-hole Single Play
Week 9, 10, 11 and 12 9-hole Single Play
March 18-hole Unlimited Play DOUBLE POINTS
WGT Spring Tour - April Qualifier OR April 18-hole Unlimited Play (this will be dependent on whether or not there is a Spring Tour) TRIPLE POINTS
The Points System
The points system will be rather simple - the top 100 all earn points, 1st place getting 100 points, 2nd place 99, 3rd place 98 and so on, till 100th place earns 1 point. The only exception will be the March 18-hole unlimited play, which will give out double the points (down to 200th spot) and the final event, which is triple points (down to 300th spot). An easy way to know how many points a position will get is this maths: 101-Position=Points, replacing 101 with 303 or 202 where applicable.
Who Qualifies?
The more points you have earned in qualifying events, the higher your position.
The highest ranked players will be paired with the next best player from their country. This starts off with the #1 ranked player and the next-best player from their country. The same is then done with the #2 ranked player and the next-best player from their country. This will go on until we have 12 teams.
Ties (or Draws)
If there is a tie for a score in a qualifying event, all players tying will be awarded the position's points. For example, if 300 players are tied for 1st place, all those players get the maximum points, but 301st place will get 0 points.
If there is a tie in the points totals amongst only the top 31, seeding will be done using the country's highest 2nd placed player. If there is a tie for 32nd place, the country with the highest 2nd placed player will go through. If that is also tied, the country with the highest position in the final qualifier will go through, 1st and 2nd placed player for each country combined.
How To Post Your Scores
During the qualifications, a form will be available on Google Docs to post your scores. In an unlimited play qualifier, if you have the intention of playing the qualifier more than once, please post your score towards the end of the qualifier's time. Post your single play scores as soon as possible.
The Finals
The Finals will be solely for the pairings of the 32 countries qualified. This will decide which country is the best on WGT.
The Seeding
The seeding will be done using the top qualifying positions. If there are any ties for any positions, those seeds will be done with the highest-ranked 2nd-placed player.
The Group Stage (Round Robin)
All games are to be played using the Alternate Shot format. The group stage will have 8 groups of 4 countries. The countries in each group will be decided by the seeding.

For those of you unfamiliar with the format, Round Robin is where everyone in the group plays each other once, with 2 points for a win and 0 for a loss in this case. After this, the top 2 teams go through to the knockout stage.
The Knockout Stage
The knockout stage will be played on the Bestball format. Bestball is played on 4 player (2 v 2) stroke play, and the best score for each team is used as the team's score. For an example, let's say USA was playing Britain. If Woods shot 3 on a hole, Watson 5 against McIlroy's 4 and Westwood's 4, USA would win the hole, because their team had the lowest score, a 3. This would be the teams playing each other for the last 16:
1. Group A winner v Group H runner-up
2. Group B winner v Group G runner-up
3. Group C winner v Group F runner-up
4. Group D winner v Group E runner-up
5. Group E winner v Group D runner-up
6. Group F winner v Group C runner-up
7. Group G winner v Group B runner-up
8. Group H winner v Group A runner-up
The winner of match 1 then plays winner of match 2, match 3 winner against match 4 winner etc.
