This is part of rules:
There will be qualifiers to decide the 32 countries competing and the pairings for those countries, then there will be a finals tournament to decide the winners.

The highest ranked players will be paired with the next best player from their country. This starts off with the #1 ranked player and the next-best player from their country. The same is then done with the #2 ranked player and the next-best player from their country. This will go on until we have 12 teams.

Ok, 6 countries represented finally.
A lot of rules changed suddenly in this tournament, I don't know what to think.
I thought that was a world tournament, maybe I was wrong.
I agree it says 32 countries but what is he suppose to do if 32 countries do not enter

And what about the cut to 12 teams? Why not 16? I don't understand why this change.

I don't see any harm in adding 4 more teams to make 4 groups of 4 teams.
Then the Australian & Spanish teams will be in and then maybe another team from Scotland and another from Canada as these 2 countries we're well represented in the qualifiers.
I definitely think the Australian team should be in as 1 of their players finished higher in the qualifiers than both of the players in the 3rd USA team.
