wrong distance with R11 irons

  I get fed up with this. On congressional, bethpage and oakmont the irons of r11 make a compleet foolish distance. When i hit the ball 1ith 14 wind against with the iron for 195 distance it goes to 215 distance. I hope WGT takes a look at this. It are the most expensive irons and they are not reliable..

  SO PLEASE WGT DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS.

  i have never been so confused on this game. I was actually gifted these clubs from someone I helped learn how to play. Now I feel like  monkey humping a football on almost every shot. There is no consistency whatsoever. No need to go into details, if you own these, I am sure you have the same problems.

  L90 irons are high spin.

  Op has Srixon balls in their profile, and Big River has L71 Nikes.

  Very small differences in spin settings will cause large differences in outcome.  Things like "about" 1/2 BS are not close enough with the Nikes especially.

  8, 9 and PW especially. They have always been a joke. I've had the R11's for a couple years. People have complained forever about them.

  I've only had them for a month - Just starting to get the hang of them, still far away from saying I know how to use them properly.

  I would sign up for jimbog1964's R11 clinic if there's room, man knows them clubz.  ;)

  I've seen scores as low as 49 for 18 holes shot with the Top Level R11's. How bad can they be?

  Fixed it for you...at least I hope I did as I have heard my corrected statement before.  I apologize if you really do feel like monkey humping a football though.

  As far as the R11s go - the Callys (standard not legend) with full backspin are pretty much spot on for stated yardage give or take wind/elevation.  That will give you a good starting point and you can fine tune from there. BEWARE the 8-iron - darn thing has a mind of it's own.

  That is very true, by far the most unpredictable club in the set.  The rest are great though and even the 8 iron isn't sooooo bad.  A result like the OP reported sounds like some sort of screw up.

  To quote from the Official WGT Book of Simple Cures:  Be sure to clear your flash cache every time you buy new gear and put it in your bag.  

  You can either clear everything in which case you'll lose any data saved for other flash games or just select media5wgt and delete that.  You'll have to reset all your game settings but it's worth the small amount of work involved.  I do mine about once a week and after every update or change of gear.

  Same love/hate relationship as well. Use Srixions level 11+ (180 a sleeve) with them. That's my ideal lowest priced sleeve of balls I use with them. I usually try to use balls with at least 2 dots of  durability.  And if there is a class for improving my game with them....Sign me up!....lol
