Yikes, I guess I'm in the minority because I don't utilize the avatar-movement scale technique that most do.  However, I think I'd stack my virtual putting ability next to most players that don't have superior course knowledge.  Sadly I wish my real putting stroke was as solid.

Different strokes for different folks I suppose.  Whatever works.

I wonder if any golf video game utilizes the long putter?

Hey Lee or Yankee or anybody for that matter.  Is there a thread on the 'avatar-movement scale'?  I personally don't use this either and am curious about it.  I agree with Jay on the 30 ft scale as well, and even suggested it to him.

After having putted with the starter putter for almost a year with the base meter being 30 yds, my eye is just trained to easily pick out the 5 ft, 10, 15 and so increments and I feel like the roll is smoother with the Redwood at this distance.  If I switch to the 15 ft meter it's a little harder for me to pick out the 5 and 10 foot marks, and I feel like the ball reacts to the break even more.  I guess I prefer to try and putt like Tiger and take most of the break out of the putt 90% of the time.

    `My 2 cents

Thanks Jim.  Without the arrow I never would have found it :)  Man I need to go to bed, this game is ruining my sleep habits and my eyes.

Funny that I've been playing this game for so long and never thought to watch for that before myself.  Guess I've always just focused on bar itself.  Oh well, something new to try out.  Hopefully that will allow me to cut down on those 2-3 lip outs per round and finally shoot a 59.

Captain Couples,  yep I have the same preshot routine, but I most often forget the routine when in multi-player.  Bing, my turn, finish typing in chat, pull the pin, line 'er up, hit it, damn went 4.5 feet!  LOL

Yeah Andy like I said I have failed to follow my routine several times coming in with a low post due to a birdie streak. That was suddenly ended by a mental blunder and a 16' putt  for Bird hit 6 feet... I Can't say I have ever done this in Multi Play though.. My advice would be to Putt first,, then chat them up as your ball slides in the side door..:-).  gl CC...
