I hear your concern re: frustrating shots -- especially when you lose a ball because of it.  The best advice I can offer EVERYONE in the community is this:

If you think a shot was executed well, but the results seemed "buggy" or "broken"...please do the following:

    1) Save the replay and send it to us.  In case you didn't know... ALL REPLAYS we can analyze to determine why the outcome happened.

    2) Give a brief but informative description of why you think the shot was in error

    3) Give it a P1 through P3 rating

    > P1 = Serious problem / clearly a bug

    > P2 = visibly odd behavior / inconsistent to all other shots with same club

    > P3 = strange outcome / "felt off" for some reason (and tell us why)

Doing this would go a long way to helping ensure there are no oddities in the system whilst also giving you direct feedback WHY certain outcomes happen.

    Thanks (and spread the word)!

    WGTadmin2:

We understand that losing balls it not fun for anyone, but please keep the comments friendly towards each other, thanks

It's not just about lost balls, It's HOW they're lost.

I've never lost a free ball until I hit 1 in the water on purpose to see if it was deemed lost and a penalty given, but with paid for balls is a completely different story.

I lost 1 in the burn on St. Andrews 1st when I drove long the other day, I've had the same wind and hit the same shot dozens of times, but this time it just decided to keep rolling and plopped in the water around 350yrd. I even choked down the meter to make sure it wasn't too long for my approach.

And why is it lost in that water, It's only about 3" deep and would be totally visible. People have even played the ball out of there. Lost in thick rough or dense trees, fair enough, but to have a perfectly good ball deemed lost when you know full well where it is, just because WGT say so, is stealing. Same goes for OB!!

The thing about St Andrews there are little bumps which cause ball to sklp along when you hit them, i had a 165 yard punch shot hit a bump and go 250 yards!!

As quoted CIB why don't you play a little more and try to get better, rather than clogging up the forum's whining all the time.

    Just try it :)

I understand that St A's and RSG both have lots of bumps that shoot the ball forward sometimes, and other times stop them dead, but It is obvious to the eye that this has happened when it happens, plus St A's 1st is a flat fairway.

My main point was the ball did something it had never done before, and why is it deemed lost and taken away in a hazard where you know full well it's NOT LOST.

In the middle of a deep lake.....fine

    In extremely dense weeds.....fine

    In thick bushes or trees.....fine

But in a piddly little stream or OB on the next fairway is WRONG

I agree with you  about the slope. The other thing is on a real course when you have a sidehill putt that misses and rolls at a ninety degree angle to the hole you will be faced with a fairly straight uphill putt. Not on WGT.They do not seem to realise that it is virtually immpossible for every putt to have a sidehill lie.

I have just hit a "excellent" second shot on to the green at RSG and when it comes to the putt "ball taken out of play". For christs sake why!!!!

The ball you buy have a certain life span, certain amounts of hits. When it reaches the end of it's life it is replaced by a new ball. No penalty is given. You can see the state of your ball on a small 'meter-like' icon next to the ball.
