The Health and Safety Executive has just announced that all golfers will in future have to wear hi-vis vests when out on the course. Far too many players are hit with a golf ball from behind them that it has now become a serious safety issue. All major golf clothing manufacturers are busy designing a new line of clothing, both dry and waterproof, to meet the new requirements. I can't wait to see what WGT come up with.
Today we see many people in all walks of everyday life wearing these hi-vis vests. Even pedestrians, both with and without dogs, walking along a pavement at least 3 yards from the road with a kerb and a grassy area between the two, are wearing these hi-vis vests. I would love to know why they think they need to wear such things whilst simply walking along a pavement? Do they think a lamp post will jump out and hit them or something???
