For the Fall Tour, WGT didn't allow players from "non elligible" countries who finished top 3 during the 3 championships (and were thus qualified) to play the grand final. See here

    http://www.wgt.com/forums/t/81368.aspx

I thought they would have understood that this was ridiculous and that they would change their mind for the Winter Tour. No way...

According to that news, I will not play the final again... Even if I finished 3rd in February, see the leaderboard.

I really don't understand. Anyone (elligible or not) who makes the cut for the qualifier can play the championship. But if you make the cut during the championship in order to play the final, you are not automatically qualified... You have in addition to be elligible... Why?

For the championship, the 10 first elligible players get the prize. So, for the final the first elligible player would win the prize. Not complicated no? I don't see why all players during the final should be from elligible countries only (and that's very few countries!)...

I guess they should have used AGT instead of WGT as a name...

I am already playing less but hold on because I am curious about that WGT Nation. If this works the same way (namely, non elligible players are, at some point, kicked out from competitions), then I think I will find another way to spend my rare free time...

Of course we will not get any answer/explanation from them... I wrote them an email 1 month ago about this subject, didn't get any answer...

    Regards

That's a shame indeed. Your the best player in this game and and you can't even win a prize? That is unbelievable.

You're right, it should be called American Golf Tour if this is the case. This is going to leave a bad taste in a lot of players mouths from around the world.

    Thanks Richard.

I have no problem with this. I already finished 3 times in top 10 during the various championships and didn't receive the three 100$ gift cards. Fine.

What I am talking about is to be able to play the grand final (without winning any prize, just playing it) if I qualified by finishing in top 3 during one of the championships.

    Regards

The answer is simple don't play in the event since you know you won't qualify for it.  And there are 8 additional countries that are eligible unfortunately Germany is not one of them for this tournament.

you SHOULD be allowed to play.  you have earned that right, maybe they dont want you to show up the chosen ones. either way it just makes a mockery of the whole tournament. hopefully common sense will prevail an you will be able to compete.  good luck

Can I ask why South Africa is not eligible for prizes? We have some of the most relaxed "gambling" laws, so I don't think it's that.

    Thanks

I think Fabian is from Belgium lol. Well its certainly odd that you can play in the qualifiers and the Championship then be excluded from the final. They should create something where all the top players can compete and not just ones from certain countries. Right now too many good players can't compete and that's a bit unfair to them. And its not just Fabian but quite a few others as well, I think Italy has some decent players last time I checked lol. Anyway hope you hang around Fab, but I can understand your frustration.

I would also like to question as to why people from the Philippines don't qualify as again we have some of the most relaxed gambling laws here as well
