    bulfrog2004:

The answer is simple don't play in the event since you know you won't qualify for it.  And there are 8 additional countries that are eligible unfortunately Germany is not one of them for this tournament.

    Well that's not so simple :) .

First of all, Germany is an elligible country (Hanswurst72 is qualified). I am from Belgium.

(elligible countries are USA, Canada (excluding Quebec), United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Norway, Ireland, The Netherlands and South Korea, so 9 countries only :) )

Secondly, how one can know that he will be qualified or not? Well by reading the rules no?

In the rules, it is indeed mentionned that you need to be from elligible countries to get the cash prize, fine. But it's not mentionned that you need to be from an elligible country to be qualified for the final. You just need to make top 3 in one of the 3 championships. This is what I did for the Fall Tour and for the Winter Tour.

He is the part the rules about that

"The top 3 finishers in the Championship tournament will receive automatic entry into the 4-round WGT WINTER TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP (in April 2012) where the winner will receive a $1000 Amazon gift card."

    Regards

9 countries???  - makes the 'World' in World Golf Tour seem a  bit of a misnomer.

    Johnny.

Fabian, You and all the players that qualified and didn't win prizes should have the right too play in the final. I don't understand how WGT is letting this happen but I have not understood allot of things they do sometimes. I'm in yours and the other players side to add you guys and gals to the list of the 9 that will win the prize.

Seems totally unfair that WGT are willing to let Fabien & Stuffix (Belgium) etc rattle away to their hearts content wasting money on balls etc in the qualifiers.....but ripping them off big time by not allowing them to take part in the finals they qualify for.

Looks like WGT want their cake and to eat it.

If Fabien etc aren't going to be allowed to play in finals they qualify for......then in future don't let them waste their money on balls plus their time by allowing them to enter the qualifying rounds.

There has to be one rule......and it should be adhered to.

Either they play in both the qualifier & final or they don't.

    TBE

Agreed. That makes no sense at all.

Why are they even allowed to play in the qualifiers?

    Thanks all for your support.

I would not say this that way. Why aren't we allowed to play the final even if we cannot win the prize? it doesn't hurt it seems to me.

If players from non eligible countries cannot play in competitions where there is a cash prize to win (just because they cannot win it), then this means that we cannot play the majors... That would be very bad!

I hope you didn't take my post the wrong way. I don't mind at ALL non-eligibles are allowed to play in qualifiers. I just don't understand why WGT allows them to play if they won't allow them to play in the finals! Baffling.

Yeah, that made my head hurt too.

Agree you should be able to play even if you can't win the prize!

As far as being able to participate (for stakes) in 'skill-based gaming', as such, that is a legal issue that varies from one jurisdiction to another. As far as that goes, the blame should be on the legislature, not WGT.
