Right off the bat a long par 4...Even had to fade it off the tee because of a right to left wind and a tree in the way! made birdie with driver 3 wd to 8 ft :)

Yeah, I saw the 525 yardage and assumed it was a par 5..hit the green with my 3wood and lipped out what I "thought" was an eagle putt...:(

Got in using the random method.

Well, 33 for me 1st time thru, with a double on 5 from some damn squirrel reaching down and grabbing my tee shot.

Saved the replay if anyone's interested, just checked it and it works for me.

Very well done.

Course similarities

Rough - Oakmont

Approach shot placement - Oakmont

Putting - Mix of CCC and Oakmont but run true like BPB

Fairways - Mix of Whistler and CCC

Tee Shots - Same mix of Whistler and CCC. The dog leg off camber fairways that slope away are a umm...uhhhh.... joy.

I've played 3 or 4 times so far. Once I reached the green I putted around to try and find the best place to land the approach and to putt from. These greens are going to be brutal under Championship conditions.

One thing that has really stuck out is how much I am going to be manipulating the ball flight with the meter on some of these tree line tee shots. 5 comes to mind right away.

I just hope they set the qualifier up so it's difficult. Moderate winds, championship greens from the blacks.

Please don't make the qualifier from the white tees, low wind, very fast greens!

Plus I thought it was suppose to open on the 6th which is today

Well, I was thinking about seeing FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME IN WGT a 72 as the cut for the qualifying and a 68 as best qualifying score...just like in reality.
