Yep good entertainment for sure. But the thread should be better  if it was named Mutual Aadmiration Society :)

Compelling story about a kind hearted selfish man with good quotations and charitable heart who has no PATIENCE FOR BEGGARS AT ALL  lol.

    Archonian:
Look I don't know what the big ailment was.. but if it's only for the 1% then keep it WITH the 1%. Sort of like in court. If the prosecution/defense opens up pandora's box then all hell is likely to break loose.

Point taken Archonian and again am respectful or your opinion.  That said, I do have to tell you how thankful I am that this post was started and not kept private.  Some incredible things have transpired as a result of this thread and I've made a new friend that I feel like I've known for 200 years or more possibly.  Some things have also been shared with me in private that have helped me grow as person.  More important than me though, I hope it's helped some others grow as well.

Not true sallu4u.  Mike admires me way more than I admire him!  :)

Almost 3 years ago Jake was my very first friend on WGT ... and I can tell you with 100% certainty  this isn't the first time Jake has preformed a random act if kindness ...

Shortly after we starting playing WGT, while I was on a business trip in Georgia --- Jake and I hooked up in a bar for a beer and to chat.  After a few drinks i confessed I hadn't sex in years.    Jake ... well .. I think I've said to much already ... but you can fill in the blanks.

    ----------------------------------------------

Thanks to Jake now that problem is fixed  ..... now a days I have sex almost every night.

I almost had it on Monday

I almost had it on Tuesday

I almost had it on Wednesday

I almost had it on Thursday

    God I love you Lou!

I was moved almost to tears by a similar gesture from a WGT friend;  An unsolicited sleeve of balls when I had not enough credits to purchase them on my own at the time.  It wasn't the money, it was the kindness and generousity that moved me.  I didn't beg.  I didn't ask.  It was a GIFT from the heart from a FRIEND.

Could there be a life lesson there?  Nah, it was just a sleeve of balls.

Jake, don't know you, but commend you for both your kind gesture and for just putting yourself out there on the thread. I recently became friends with Mike...we finally enjoyed our first game last night, interestingly enough. Super nice guy. Cannot think of a better person for a random act.

Don't let the haters bother you. A sad truth in life is that closed minds never seem to come with closed mouths...

The world would be a much better place if we had a few more Jakes around.

A very good story that perhaps came out the wrong way, but in the end....still a very good story.

The cynicism here and IRL is depressing, but in reality, doesn't outweigh the numbers of people who act with pure intentions and genuine empathy for others. Perhaps sometimes we become too jaded to distinguish the difference.

Jake, I don't know you, except for a couple of random encounters in chat, but you seem like a pretty good lad. I know a little about your background outside of WGT (I admit, I've lurked from time to time ;)), so I'm sure you've dealt with and/or experienced the naysayers before. What can you do but churn on, right?

Lou, you're the best. You always keep the people guessing, and the lighthearted change of pace is always appreciated around here.

My only points really relevant to this thread are, if something doesn't interest you, then just move on. No need to spend time bringing negativity to something if it really doesn't pertain to you. Too many more important things in life to deal with. Lastly, thanks for this thread Mike. If nothing else, it has inspired me to approach my WGT encounters on a more personable level. Sure, this is only e-life, but I have a tendency to level from a somewhat artificial place on here. Why not go ahead and let my RL self pervade my actions here? Again, thanks for shedding light on this, it's refreshing.

Guys and gals I'm truly flattered by all the responses and praise I've received here, but have to admit it makes me more than a little uncomfortable being the focal point.  Let's get away from this being about me doing something nice for someone and ALL direct our focus to what's truly important.  Go back and read that passage from George Carlin.  I just did for the 168th time and guess what, I still need a tissue.

Life is too short people.  Things that you hold dear can be taken away in the blink of an eye.  I've learned that all too well.  Appreciate the moment.  Be excited to be on the top side of the grass.  Be aware that there's someone 10 steps behind you as you enter a building and pause long enough to hold the door for them, man or woman.  When you get out of your car in the grocery store parking lot and see a person getting ready to walk a 100 steps to return their buggy say "Hey I'm going that way.  Can I take that for you?"  Most importantly....smile.  It's infectious and a genuine smile cast in someone's direction can reach farther than you ever know.

Signing off for this thread but thank you from the depths of my heart to those who've participated, both positively and negatively.
