I'm quitesure that this idea has been brought up before, but I am gonna throw it out there again..

Why doesnt WGT allow us to swap out the 3 iron for a hybrid in our virtual golf bags..? That is what many of us do in our real golf bags (as do many touring pro's )..

It seems like a very logical and profitable idea for WGT.....ie, more people buying  3rd wedges, and more ppl buying hybrids. Then again, this idea would really serve the legends quite well, and their scores would continue to plunge to fathoms far below par..

Nonetheless, it seems that a little extra money spent on programming would translate into vastly increased revenues..

    Great suggestion.

I love carrying 3 wedges but also hate having to drop the hybrid.

I'm not sure how much this would help legends, most have the R11 irons and the 3 in that set hits as far as the R11 hybrid.  It may not be quite as good out of the rough but I wouldn't leave my 3 iron out even if I could.  You can hit a ball over 200 yards and stop it on a dime.

The only times i have played from the 'back' tees was during "The Open" qualifiers last summer..It seemed evident to me that it was imperative to cut every dogleg as near as possible in an effort to shorten every hole..In doing so, it seemed quite easy to cut it too close and end up in some nasty cabbage..Hence, it seemed a hybrid would come in quite handy..

But.... I am not a legend  quite yet, and you can correct me if I am wrong...

I don't think there is a definite right and wrong, different people will use different methods, I know a few legends who carry a hybrid on certain courses where the fairways are narrow and the first cut of rough is 40-50%.

I prefer the flexibility of 3 wedges but each to their own.
