Think about it! You PAY to rent the club; you PAY to practise on the green/fringe/fairway. Are you freakin' NUTS?? This is a CASH-COW morons!!!! Get with the program!!!! LOL
Why would I pay for a bucket of balls when I can do the same on the course and have real conditions? I did want a range and a practice green once but I would learn less doing this than actually playing a hole.
What has been mentioned is the option of mulligans in practice mode - this would far outweigh any pratice facility. If you want a range you can forget it - it will not happen!
Well said. No driving range will show you if a shot with less than Full BS will clear the tree on # 4 @ congressional or if a shot with less than full T/S will go under the tree on #5 @ Olympic. Those and other shots can only be learned by trial and error on the course.
And apples are a completely different color and taste than oranges. Go figure.
Are you saying that the time spent on a driving range, practice green, etc. have no beneficial effects for a player? Learning a course is just that, learning a course, it's fundamental to learning how to be competitive on that specific course. Learning how your nine iron will react with your specific ball when you hit it a specific way under specific conditions is a fundamental part of learning how to be competitive at golf, no matter the course.
Ask any person who has engaged in a recreational activity for an extended period of time with the hopes of becoming very proficient at that activity how many hours they have spent practicing that activity, specifically repetitive actions that are fundamental to the activity, for no other reason than to build up muscle memory, the number will be astounding. I know, because I've done it with darts, tennis, basketball, golf, disc-golf, baseball, and more.
