    gingerrae:

all i am looking for is something realistic. no man picks up the big dog and only hits 200. i was hitting farther than that when i was 15. and let me tell you equipment has improved alot in 30 years. my 70 yer old boss with bad knees hits 230 for god sake.

Just quit dude, nobody is making you play and if you dont want to pay your dues, like everybody else, quit, i started this game less than 4 months ago, gone from hack to TM, and my average before i leveled up was 62, so it can be done, but you have to have more patience than a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs, and by the way, if you are not going to invest a little, which they give you plenty of credits to upgrade for minimal dollars, get out you wont survive unless you practice your butt off.

sounds to me that your just a crappy player,i have only played 180 rounds on this golf game and im now a master tier, with a 67 average and getting better,,If you want more yardage out of your clubs buy better clubs dont be so cheap. And by the way i used to play all the tiger woods online games too,i could birdie or eagle every hole on every coarse pretty much every game ,if thats what you call entertainment then all the power to you go play those ones,me i will stick to WGT at least its challenging and not boring by far the best golf game out there .,thats my opinion agree or disagree dont really care.

To "gingerrae".....just few comments.  If you're a "scratch" golfer on real golf courses, seems to me you could easily adapt to WGT golf.  No disrespect, but, you hit an 87 score on St. Andrew's (that's a Par 72) course.  AND, you probably were playing it from the "red tees", the closest tees on WGT.....on St. Andrew's 18 holes from the "red tees" is 5,596 Yards.  Try playing that same course from the "black - Champion tees"...the distance for 18 holes on that course is 6,626 Yards OR 630 Yards further!  Plus, I doubt that you have been "putting" on "Tournament Speed Greens" either...to me, they are pretty realistic.  WGT is set up....so, that as you LEVEL UP...you become eligible to purchase better balls and upgraded clubs...which definitely helps get the great golf shots you're wanting.  When you first began playing REAL GOLF....did you run out and buy "professional clubs" like the Pros use on the PGA?....Doubt it.

And, with EVERY game (whether it's REAL golf or on-line golf)....you're just NOT going to be very good having played ONLY (24) rounds, as you have.  Did you become a "scratch" golfer after playing only 24 rounds of REAL golf??? I seriously don't think so!!!

And you also have to REALIZE, that this website is a "business"....NO business is going to be around very long IF they aren't earning a "profit".  Many WGT members play on this site or FREE....by watching videos and taking surveys...to earn credits to upgrade to better balls and clubs.  WGT golf is not intended to REPLACE "REAL GOLF".....this an on-line golf game...a HOBBY for most of us.  One of my WGT friends is a PRO GOLFER...and he runs one of the WGT Country Clubs...he obviously thinks HIGHLY of WGT golf.

Maybe.....IF after you have played 300 or 400 "ranked rounds", you'd see your WGT game improve.....it's like anything else in life if you want to be successful at it.....you HAVE to PRACTICE!!!

Whatever you do in real life won't transfer onto the game.

I disagree.  Understanding backspin and green angles transfers over.  The concept of breaking putts, uphill, downhill, more break early, more break late... that transfers over.

And having a beer at the turn transfers over!

i am a scratch golfer for real. and this is not very realistic. because i coul take a 65 dollar walmart driver to the range and drop 275 yard bombs all day. and the most hokey unrealistic thing like i said is the putting. you said it my GIR is pretty good and i should birdie a lot more holes if you wouldnt 3 putt from insie 15 feet. tiger isnt even that bad of a putter..lol. another thing ....stopping the ball on the green is almost impossible. so i idnt think the cartoon mni golf comment was very intelligent. i could whip out the credit card and buy all the upgrades. but i like to earn them. this game doesnt reward you at all. i could go home right now ..dig the old PS2 out of storage...crappy sticky  broken controllers and all ....plug it in and shoot 60 at st andrews without hitting anything bigger than a 3 iron. part of having fun is playing well and hitting good shots. i quite frankly cant hink of another golf game that uses same swing meter putting as i does for driver. you have no feel on the green here.

If you are a scratch golfer may I suggest you take your 3 iron and go to St. A,s for real and compare your actual score to the 60 you shoot on PS2 and then talk about realism.

    My nickle

Stupid statement #1.  You are NOT a scratch golfer.  You wouldn't make a statement like this if you were.  You are making my blood boil with your whining.

if youthink hitting an approach into a 411yard par 4 is realistic WOW you must suck on a real coarse with real clubs.

Stupid statement #2.  You just have to go play a real golf course sometime if you think 411yds is long.  Which leads me back to the fact you aren't a real scratch golfer.  Go play a 7300+ yd course from the tips and see if you average 71.5.  The way you talk, you likely couldn't break 80 unless you play the ladies tees.

    Good riddance.

Hm, I never even held a real golf club in my hands, so... These things you mention have nothing to do with transferrance and everything to do with math, memory and logic (and good reflexes combined with a decent PC).
