Hit most greens. Usually within 10ft of pin. BUT the ball just rolls 10 to 20 yards, usually off the green.

    fun Game....

John, if your going for the pin, that will happen with your equipment. Try holding back a bit and use the roll to get close. I used to love watching my approach shot hit 20 yards in front of a green and roll up to 3 feet or less from the cup. I need to relearn that with my current equipment.

Renni is on the money. The starter irons and ball aren't going to stick it tight. They need to be landed short of the hole and allowed to roll up. Some courses it's pretty easy to roll them up and others aren't made for that kind of play unless you're a genius player.

As already stated, starters irons, wedges and balls will not stop, regardless of applying full back spin. I made masters also with that equipment and learn't how to land short and roll the ball up. Obviously some holes and most courses (St Andys excepted) this is not possible. What I would suggest would be to get three decent wedges and a better ball, so at least you can recover.
