LMAO TBE- the funniest take I have seen on this. But where you are SO wrong is

    thebigeasy707:
when WGT made original contact with Muirfield it would have been a point blank "no".

They would have hung up as soon as they heard WGT.

Pity however,as have not played Muirfield but is one of the great courses.

Mister WGT did actually say last July that Muirfield was "in negotiations" so it at least sounded like they managed to have some sort of discussion with them. Until I hear otherwise, I live in hope.

With the R&A tie in, I would assume that WGT would at least get to have a conversation with any course hosting the British Open, however I do agree that the conversation might be a quick no or a number that WGT realizes is just a nice way to say no way.

I think that WGT should commit to having 2 of the high definition courses each year.  If they can't come across with the British Open tract then look to the US for a course used for the PGA Championship or at least one of the fairly well known courses.

In theory we will get Pinehurst, Merion, Pebble Beach, Winged Foot, etc. from the US Open rotation in the next 5 years or so.  It would be nice to pick up a British Open course about once in 3 years or so and fill in with Southern Hills, Shinnecock, Doral, etc.
