All I can say to this is, I'm so glad to see that even the highest tiers have a bit of trouble with Merions' greens. During one of the recent big tournaments held there is when I got my 1st real taste of Merion, and I must say I wanted it sent back to the chef for being way over-cooked.
I came very close to just saying, screw that course, and not playing it. But, I know better than that and that playing the tough ones, more often, only makes you a better player. I'm still a LONG way from mastering it, and maybe never will, but I am glad to say that there has been a good deal of improvement in my game at Merion.
And, it's funny how, once you begin to play better at a certain course, the enjoyment of playing it grows right along with your improvement.
