    Enough from you yes.

Merion is a fantastic course with multiple shot options on several holes. It takes a while to get to know the personality of the course and especially the greens. The course rewards smart course management and only extremely good putting.

Also, it's exactly as it was for the 2013 US Open. It's supposed to be hard.

Play it till you learn to love it. Hardest course on WGT, makes you think about your shots.

Merion can put the fear of God into you. It requires your best attention and focus. Trying to 'waltz' through it, killing time with your mind elsewhere, is not killing time, but wasting time. You can be hot and ripping and "bingo" a 5 putt green. We are so fortunate to play on a historic course that clearly shows how great Ben Hogan was. Is it our hardest course? Maybe. Olympic & Oakmont are not bad either. Going low on any is a tall order but it can be done. When it is done, you will be very happy.

Ok let me elaborate on my comments from yesterday. Sweetie Pie is totally right. Merion IS a very difficult course to play. Probably one of the toughest WGT has to offer at least as far as I've played in my short time here. Shot selection is very critical. Shooting Par is almost like getting Birdies!!

My reason for the blatant comment was because I had to play Merion in a Tierless Bracket game yesterday morning in the 2nd round. Before then I might have played it only 4 or 5 times. I guess my main gripe is, why does WGT have to make an already tough course even tougher by adding wind speeds of 12 to 16 mph.?? The sharp dog legs and elevation changes are difficult enough let alone the difficult greens. I also realize I'm a "Rookie" compared to many of you that have put in your time for 4 to 5 years on WGT. So with time I guess I can change my attitude after acquiring a feel for the course. Thank you for straightening me out on this matter. I will use more digression in making further comments in the future.

    Hi

I don't think the cource sucks!   The cource is not that tough except for 4-5  holes.

The main challenge on Merion is the GREENS....   Just played 18 holes RG.  Finish

with an overall of 5.5 feet distance to pin. And yet "only" score 58.

I know 58 is not that bad, but always when I play Merion my biggest problem is to trust

the dots on green. Maybe it sounds crazy, but it seems the greens on Merion live there

    own lives!!

    Have a nice day.

Well Lute, When it next appears in tourney play with no wind, it is a wonderful time to learn the course. And you can restart over and over at no expense..lol...You just never know...last month, there was a single play 18 hole gig at Merion, with everything I can't stand. The course, Championship speed greens (I putt poorly), Heavy wind( I like zero to low), but I played anyway and bingo! a 61...go figure

Thanks for your words of encouragement Sweetie. Oh and Happy belated Anniversary too!! A player of your skill is well beyond my playing abilities yet. I am merely a rookie compared to many of you that have played for so many years. I will take note and try to play the Merion course as best I can. It will take a lot of practice to get to know all the diabolical greens that are Merion. As one poster noted, a 5 putt is never out of the question. I truly enjoy the WGT and look forward to getting better.
