    blackbeard:

When I scroll nearly every user's profile (whilst playing on Blitz or MP games) I rarely, if ever, see OM scores in their profile. This seems a waste

Anyone else have a view on OM, and maybe how WGT can make it more a part of the overall experience, as at the moment it seems like it's the ginger stepchild of the family?

i'm with you it seem wgt  has turned its back on Oakmont   since they had the big tourney there

i love playing Oakmont i try to play it at least once a day  i think its the best   as well as the toughest  course  on the game.sure i shoot in the 80's  just about every time i play it  but that is due  to  my own  screw ups  and the  meter  glitches  . it is definately a  course that will punish you  severely  if you venture off the fairways . as far as the greens   being  off on their  info  the only one  that really comes to mind is  #2    it seems the uphill / downhill info  is only about half  or less of what it really is  eg. 6 in uphill is more like 12 in or more   same with the down hill  as far as the breaks   it is about the same  it  seem to show twice as much break as there actually is   when beside and above the hole   but when below the hole  the break is more severe than it shows .

as far as  using it in weekly   ready go's  ctth  cc tourneys  it would be wonderful  to get  something  new  for those    really getting tired of the same 3 courses  all the time  i'm sure it would bring alot of different names to the tops of the leaderboards     as most  people with   low averages are scared to death to play it because it might hurt their avg .i find  after around  at oakmont  the rest of the courses  seem  easier .  come on WGT  give us something new  and i don't mean another CTTH  course  we have enough of those

I can score okay on it but you have to stay in the fairway at all costs.  I think all the initial hype was way over blown.  This should be an example to WGT, not all the US Open courses need to be on the game, this one probably shouldn't have been

i think you are wrong    this course   should be used more by WGT  for the simple fact  that it  is a difficult course   it is like any other course  once you find out its secrets  it can be beat   but as you said staying on the fairways is a must (whole point  of the game of golf)   and yes the us open  has the toughest  conditions  of any tournament  on tour  .as far as it being too tough  for 90%  of the people on here  they should  venture on to tougher courses especially when they reach the higher tiers   i for  one  find  no fun in shooting  31  over and over again again  on the fron 9 at st andrews  just to bring my avg down   to me that is like cheating  my avg  is real  and 90% based on  rounds  of 18  at either BPB or Oakmont   the other 10%  is from  tournament play .they need to bring Oakmont into the mainstream  and use it in the weekly and  monthly and ready go's and they definately need to let us use it in  CC tourneys

I like the course. Reminds me of some of the courses I played while growing up in PA.It matches the lay of the land. It is a difficult course which sometimes makes for higher scores, but It's the challenge that I relish. I am one that doesn't watch his average like a hawk,so a score of 75-80  doesn't bother me. It's the fun of the game that counts.

AMEN to that  .people need to be less concerned about their avg  and be more concerned about having fun   remember  people  it a video  game  its not real life

i agree with both posts, but i don't like to play it by myself.  thats generaly what happens after 4 - 5 holes, you are by yourself..  because it cannot be enjoyed in a multiplayer venue i think it is a waste.  perhaps dropping it and replace it with something  that does not demand a handy computer or slide rule to make a good shot.   my 2 cents.

add me and look me up i will play Oakmont at any time with anybody  and i don't quit  unless game crashes  .i know  i'm going to shoot  high 70's  usually in the 80's  and yes even  into the 90's  sometimes  but   in my opinion Oakmont is the best  course on the game  just because it is  so tough i think people  just  don't like to shoot  high scores cause it will hurt their avg  i say play oakmont  and  prove they deserve that low avg you are sitting on  or are they afraid to leave the kiddie courses  like St Andrews and Kiawah. i play a fella regular at oakmont  he shoots mid 60's  i shoot in the 80's  but we both really enjoy the course  and have alot of fun   when we do

I'd like to see Oakmont come to the weekly, and monthly tournaments. I see it's on the Roadmap, but that means it's going to be a while before we see it in that venue.
