If you shoot higher than your average even if you shoot well below par your average will go up. If your average is say 66 and you shoot -3 69 your average will rise ever so slightly. The more rounds you have played the smaller the increase and decrease if you shoot below your average. Hope this helps.

In WGT, each Tier you go up, at the start of the tier, your handicap will go up or down depending on your score. But after a certain amount of rounds (seems to vary from tier to tier and player to player) your handicap no longer goes up. I just made Legend a couple of months ago. But after completing more than 60 rounds my handicap wil still go up. Does anyone know ow many rounds you need to play at the start of each Tier level before your hadicap no longer goes up?

That minimum and saturating no. of rounds do only vary between players if there are other influences accelerating the process.

As a TM, it is 50 rounds, as a Legend and TL, 500 rounds each.

+1 to BTB for an unsaturated average, but after saturation the highest scores will be kicked out of the equation by better scores, allowing for a possible average drop even if the new score is higher than the average.

@alexia, the high number of scores might result in average drops so small (third digit) that you won't see it in the two digit display.

As a possible aside it is worth noting that your handicap or average in WGT has nothing to do with par, it is calculated purely on the score for the round.

So shooting a 70 on St Andrews (-2 par) would have exactly the same effect as shooting a 70 at Merion (E Par).
