Nice to see that you're still playing with the R11s Dazza.......

    DAZZA501:

In case any of you were wondering, the level 97 Nike irons and the new level 100 Nike irons are not that much better than the level 90 R11's.

I hugely disagree. There is a marked difference in the 6-PW of the Nikes vs the same clubs in the R11 set. The key irons for approaches-the 3, 4 and 5 are all fairly close but that ends with the 97 Nikes and subsequently the 100 Nikes.

The difference is noticeable for me.

If I can stick a 4 iron on the 17th at St Andrews from 209 yards with a L>R 13 mph crosswind to 8 feet with minimum roll, then the Vapors were worth every cent.

hehe - that would be a dream shot with the R11s and Max balls - lol. But then again, you have to have dreams right?

I found score wise I was OK with the L81 ball teamed with the R11s...fair while ago, but actual scoring potential with that combo in all honesty I think was about as good as any any combo......Easy to say, but how I remember even if I dropped the fast meter soon as I got half a chance I know.  Strangely perhaps, and gets v personal I know, The real slow L90 Nike ball with the slower L100s I found too slow in many ways.  OK I am sure I would have settled in but went to the L61 ball for that and also day 1 I was finding yardage issues with the L90 ball / new irons..Moved on before I really spent enough time to comment properly on that though....FWIW still mapping the new combo which is why I say do not change irons / balls too often as that's what happens in my experience (with HL balls anyway).

Clearly a few players leaving over it are not a mass exodus % wise.  ? WGT are asking I guess is what is the knock on effect for taking the Pi$$ like that......I hope that potential forces a customer friendly approach as it annoyed me seeing good buds leave, and that was detriment to anything we can think of.  How much of a detriment $s wise to WGT even with knock on effect...................no flippin clue:)

All in all, anyway you slice it, wgt's money making scheme at the expense of reason and consumer satisfaction is profoundly flawed and foolish. They could amend this scheme with our objections in mind and still be comparably profitable. After all, we have to accept the fact that a business is not a charitable organization, but that is no justification for wgt's current Pro Shop policy regarding access to top equipment, not to mention other shortcomings that it could strive to improve (see my post at the bottom of page 2). The point has been made, and if they choose to ignore it with laziness and disrespect, that will in the end seriously backfire, mark my words.

Its simply all about the $$$'s

Imagine lost sales in making all top equipment open to Legend at whatever level.....

Once you have the top equipment theres no monies left in you, only in ball sales.

They obviously hope Legends on the way through the levels will spend on the new equipment as they get to the respective levels.

Gotta say though, if they can make legend at say level 40, do they actually need the top equipment ?

"All about money," sure. But there are many ways to skin a cat, as they say. There has to be a reasonable and fair, as well as profitable, compromise.

Just my two cents worth.  Once a player reaches TL status he/she should have access to all the equipement.

Speaking strictly about competing in the VT, you should absolutely have access to any equipment that your opponents (in your Tier) do..  That's the bottom line.
