I believe there is a misconception that wgt won't do anything... in my experience they have taken action on the couple people I've reported before.

    +1

WGT do take action and for that I give them praise....high praise indeed as there should be zero tolerance for cheating.

What I have found is WGT is not pro-active as a rule but primarily reactive, but to be honest, we do not see what goes on behind the scene. I have seen hacks shooting 27 to lead after one day of playing....however their account is not searchable denoting they have been suspended....problem is their name stays atop of the leaderboard which must be disheartening for a new player.

One thing for sure, there does not appear to be a security sweep as was claimed, just the banning of a few players whether rightly or wrongly but they did serve a message that the company will try to stop cheaters - and as I said - we do not see what they can see.

I have 100% respect for the players who have spent the time learning the game, practicing for hours to perfect their game.....and then it is possible to score well (albeit I am envious....lol).

But before newer players, or players who never invest their time and effort into the game cast accusations, then I suggest they d their homework first.

    WGTChampion:

We would rather be notified and look into a player than have rumors about who is cheating and who is not through our community.

If you feel you need to make accusations in the forum, please thoroughly check your facts before you do.Probably best just to do as CHAMPION suggests.

Please re-read the first message and the title. There was no naming of player. It was  posted to get feedback. Please keep on topic! Thanks

OK...I used only the first name of a player and got sat down for it. So I fully understand no names in the context of this thread (although names are used in other threads .. i.e.,naming a player who won a tournament and passing congrats to them).

What confuses me a bit, is how players still know who is being referred to, if no names are used?  And, if people do know (which is the case here), what difference does it make if the person is formally named? Seems to be a case of semantics.

I'm sure someone will enlighten me.:)

    Pingkin:

My appologies to the real aussie guy who's obviously a genuine champ. You are correct dbcoop71 there must be a bug that shows a canadian lvl 3 hack in his place when you mouse over the player in leaderboard.Another bug to fix then WGT.

Hi Pingkin, that guy you mention is genuine, I've known him for years and yes a WGT bug. Good player too! :)

Maybe the best thing to do is stop worrying about what everyone is doing and just play golf instead.

I only read the forums when i'm bored and in this case because my computer finally died and just play on the mobile unless I can get my daughter off hers for an hour each day.

It is still the best virtual golfing game around.

    Cheers

Little bit of snooping around and you will find who is the guy being referred to ;)..

Another guy who has the same penchant of shooting similar high scores as the one OP mentioned, might really like the fella who had a meltdown at Golden Bell in the final round this year.

Thank you...I don't know these people as I don't play tournaments or RGs...but your post did clear up the one confusing issue for me.

    cheers,.

    Hey David,

Worrying about what everyone else is doing wasn't the point of this thread. I'm not worried about what everyone else is doing. I am however worried when there is something like this that's so obvious and people act like it isn't a big deal.

Forums are meant for discussing things so feel free to add to the discussion if you want.
