BPB#5 I realize this is not the most difficult hole on here but I bet it ranks very high in having the lowest birdies for a Par 4. I'm willing to bet it averages around 4.7 or higher. I'm pretty sure the green is indoor/outdoor carpet install on concrete. Forget holding that green with a tail wind from anything over 170 yrds. Or for that matter forget holding that green with no wind over 170 yrds unless you can land it perfectly in the rough and run it on.
I'm positive I can count on one hand the number of birdies I've had on that hole since joining a year ago. And I can remember only one of those being a putt. The rest were chip ins from above the hole long.
# 5 is not really a hard hole you just have to accept the fact that the green does not hold well and play for par. I have had a few birdies there. And 1 holed out 5 iron for an eagle.
For me the hardest holes have been # 9 @ Oakmont and # 15 @ BPB . In the year and half that I have been playing here I have had only 1 birdie on # 9 and many many doubles or worse. And only 2 birdies on #15 and many doubles or worse there as well.A few of the doubles or worse were with 4,5,and 6 putts.
# 17 @ St. Andrews has ruined many a good round as well but I have had many birdies there as well. # 17 @ Kia has also ruined many good rounds. Just a minor mishit can end up in the lake and kill a good round. Or I'll concentrate so much on not clicking late that I will click way too early and end up in the bunker to the left which no easy shot.
