I've had some nightmares at BPB #15 and Oakmont #9, especially Oakmont, but in the last 2 days have birdied them both for the first time.  Both were approach shots that ran past and rolled back to beside the hole, the BPB shot is saved in my profile.

A really great feeling to see a 3 on the card for these holes.  I think I've birdied pretty much every hole now, not sure but must be damn close if not.

For me it's got to be Oakmont #9. It takes 4 good shots to get a par on that hole.

If you miss the fairway off the tee, you won't get to wedge distance for the 3rd.

If you mess up the 2nd shot going too far or too short, you won't be able to put your 3rd inside 2ft.

On your 3rd, if you're outside of 2ft to the pin after that shot it'll be a bogey.

A bad green read on the par putt will probably end with a bogey.

BPB #15 is a living nightmare for me but I'm not up to yalls level yet.

I went into it 2 under yesterday.  I came out not a very happy golfer.  Time will tell :D

    word.

I can't think of a hole that makes me more nervous, I still have the dreadful memory of that long put from the right hand edge of the green where I missed the meter and managed to roll the ball into the bunker, much to the amusement of the other players.

    My list

17th St Andrews - as above

2nd Kiowah - Hate the green, 3 putted this one many times

4th Kiowah - Approach shot lands either in the bunker or on the far side of the green on a good day.

2nd  Bethpage - as above, near greenside bunker or just off the far side of the green on a good day.

7th Bethpage - pretty obvious, very hard work for starter players - impossible to reach in 2 shots.

    1st Oakmont  - horrible

BP 15 makes me crazy (perhaps crazier?)...and the green on St.A's nbr 2 is too cruel.

Kiawah front has a bunch of greens that have made me "speak in tongue"

1st at Oakmont is as mean as an exwife.

    5 yards short and it's a near-certain 3putt.

BPB #15 wrecked my best round ever.  I went into #15 at -11, having birdied #9-#14.  I hit drive to the center of the fairway and long, and dropped my second on the fringe at the bottom of the green.  Chipped to 4' and the nightmare began.  My 4' putt lipped out and rolled all the way back to the bottom of the green.  My 2nd putt was 1' short, and made my 3rd for double bogey, dropping to -9.  I was so frazzled and annoyed, I dead yanked my drive off the tee at #16 and ended up bogeying that hole too.  And so what looked to be headed sub-60 ended up a 62 as I parred out the last two.

For the record, the hole does get much easier when you get higher and longer off the tees.  But for my money, the lower pin placement is the toughest place to putt in WGT unless you are dead below the hole.  I would put putting at that pin on par with anything at Oakmont.  Or SA #2, for that matter, which is, as mentioned, a cruel green.

Something I figured out if you ever happen to be long on BPB #15, on the upper tier.  To avoid putting off the green, calculate your putt just to the top of the hill.  This will be 30 ft (?) short of the hole but the ball will trickle down and at least give you a chance for a two putt.  You will also probably have to aim way to the right because of the slope of the green.  C

BPB#5 I realize this is not the most difficult hole on here but I bet it ranks very high in having the lowest birdies for a Par 4. I'm willing to bet it averages around 4.7 or higher. I'm pretty sure the green is indoor/outdoor carpet install on concrete. Forget holding that green with a tail wind from anything over 170 yrds. Or for that matter forget holding that green with no wind over 170 yrds unless you can land it perfectly in the rough and run it on.

I'm positive I can count on one hand the number of birdies I've had on that hole since joining a year ago. And I can remember only one of those being a putt. The rest were chip ins from above the hole long.
