Something I've always found a bit odd around here:

    SidersBest:

every 3 feet equal a yard

Nobody ever says a yard equals a yard.  For some reason everyone says 3 feet of elevation will equal 1 yard less distance the ball will travel.  Or every 3 feet of drop will be 1 yard more travel.

Why don't we just say  a yard = a yard?

I guess it's because elevation change is shown in feet while distance to hole is shown in yards.  So, question asked, question answered.

Still seems bloody daft though   :))

Does it do meters for players in Europe?

Because when it comes to "Elevation", it's displayed in "Feet" (at least in the U.S.).  For example, it will say "180 yds to the pin / 15 feet up".  Since all club's distances are gauged in yards, you want to convert the feet to yards to match your club distance adjustments.

For U.S., it also uses "feet" for putting distances.  What does it use in Euro when putting and for elevation readings?
