But what about what this post was started as?  PGA pros set records for 62 under par.  If this is such a realistic game, NO player should be shooting under 62.  That would be realistic.

If any one playing this game can go to any one of these courses and shoot a sub 60 round in real life, join the PGA Tour.  But since there is NO one on this site that can do that, this game is as realistic as Tiger Woods 2000-2012 video games.

    IMHO

I think this is the problem everybody has when playing WGT.   This is not Real Golf...

.....This is the best online golf game available. It's a puter game and like all games, doesn't matter what it is, eventually your going to get better with a s/load of practice....lol

Give me a smooth meter and I'll provide you some consistent scores that'll really make you shake your head.

I've seen you play with the shakes. please announce to us all when your meter is smooth...I need a vacation;)

Because you haven't, does not make it unrealistic.

Suppose when you shoot a 60 here, you'll make a new statement?

I really dont give a crap.  I play for enjoyment.  My point was this post is 6 pages long and off topic 4 pages ago.

And not a very realistic game.  I agree it is the best available, but that does not make it realistic.  Even the HD photos dont help.

And no, I wont post when i have a good game.  Never had and never will.  That is for egotistical people who want to show off.

What I do want is similar conditions to all players. (SINGLE PLAY).. If some shot a 52, good; unrealistic, may be may be not... just give me the opportunity to beat him/her or get close to him.... meaning don't give me 18 holes head wind if another player had 18 tail... Ok set wind random to each tournament but give us all the same wind direction. At the end if the winner gets a 49 and I a 72 at least I will know he/she won because he/she has more skills, and not because he/she trowed the dices with more luck... I want to believe this is a skill based game... and that is the reason a lot of players can't play for credits.

let our skills decide our game, I can become a good player one day, but I will still don't stand  a chance to beat 18 holes tail wind against my 18 head!

Maybe Sun or Priestess could stream a game or even a few holes with Legends playing off the baby tees just so that others finding 52's & 53's hard to believe.....they will start to believe it more....when they see drives landing on par 4 greens and a tap in for eagle.

People need to realise this is just a game of skill.....of course a 52 is impossible on a real golf course.....but this is only an online game.

Does anyone believe Pacman promotes cannibalism???

Couldn't agree more jvr and I've been saying the same for quite sometime.  Sure vary the wind speeds and randomize the wind direction up to around 45-60 degrees but it gets tiring playing those rounds in high winds with 16 25+ headwinds knowing that many others in the tourney didn't get the same hose job.  Prevailing wind rarely changes direction 180 degrees unless you are playing at the exact moment the eye of a hurricane passes over you.

WGT had indicated that it is fearful of doing this because people (and multi accounters) could go into the round knowing the set up and have a competitive advantage.  I say hogwash on that.  Most people play the same club set up regardless of wind and conditions.  The only change in my bag I ever make is not based on wind direction, but rather course.  I change one club in my bag which is the Cleveland 64 degree.  I drop it for the Ping on Cabo because it doesn't spin back as much on holes like 18.

Off topic yes, but valid points.  WGT does many many great things but there is still plenty of opportunity to make the game much better.

    Agreed Jake...definitely valid points.

Of interest perhaps.....I "mirrored" a couple of cc tourneys with a fellow member the other week on skype.  We teed off at the same time and heckled each other chatted while we played.  Normally we just beat each other up in stroke, but for some reason we picked the cc tourney this time.

Anyways, we had completely opposite winds over 2 different 9 hole rounds...in 2 different cc tourneys, yet we'd teed off within seconds of each other in each one. If I had a 14 tailwind, he had a 14 headwind.  If I had 12 headwind to 8pm, he had 12 tailwind to 2 pm.  Etc....  (most holes were identically opposite winds, but 2 or 3 were +/- 1mph...negligible difference)

It got comical (and weird), after a while...whoever got to the next teebox first could predict the other guy's winds.

Although, in all fairness...I'd say that the overall "equality" of the winds was the same between us....in that neither one of us seemed to get more of the favourable winds than the other.  (I'm thinking  we just got lucky in that regard...lol)

I'm not sure what all this really means, or if the same would apply to 2 players teeing off at the same time in something like an Open....but that's at least my small slice of measurable personal experience regarding tourney winds and tee-off times.

    Probably just coincidence and such......

PS: to go back on topic....look at the Fall Tour championship rounds, or the Opens, if you want to see more "realistic" scores.  Those are single-play under toughest conditions.  Apples to apples, right?
