The tournament of which you speak was the single play weekly and it was from a very short set of tees. All the par 5's were easily reachable with mid irons and several of the par fours were driveable.
I didn't see what the low score was, I assume 52 based on your post but it was a very easy round. I am a member of the club of which you spoke badly, The Deviations and while I am not in the category of Bollox and some others, I managed a 62 with a meter glitch that costed me 2 strokes and 5 or 6 short putts missed. Should have been 56 easily.
For your comments about no kids, life, etc., many of us would take offense at that. I have 3 kids, a wife and I play real golf 5 times a week and manage to carry a handicap of under 5 at my advanced age of 59.
If you can't play as well, then join the club but don't call out people and tell them that it is impossible just because you can't do it.
