If you have a good approach shot you don't need putting skills..Just sayin'....lol

Yes, this is true.... but there are a few greens now that a 3ft putt is not a gimmee anymore

Best players are best putters!! When they make a bad shot and leave a 20 footer, they recover!! Simple.

this game's no different to anything else in life where jealousy can eat away at people....simple.

golf's all about the right day & the right conditions & where any luck is good luck and bounces go your way......even though this is only a game....it has the same attributes.

if everything's right.....you'll hit a decent low score.

Well said tbe.. I agree :) ... and to reply to Priestess... 'Best Players are Best Putters'... totally agree with that, but I'm the totally opposite... my approach shots are shocking and me Putting can be deadly...lol. I'm both Jealous and Envious at the low scores shot by great players at the moment....lol.... but I'm working out my shortcomings, slowly...lol

    Cheers

if averages were calculated based on actually playing 18 holes instead of 9 then these low low averages wouldn't exist, shooting 7, 8 or 9 under for 9 holes is completely achievable but that doesn't mean you automatically have the same score on the back 9.

A 30 for 9 holes gets treated as a 60 for 18 without even playing 18, most guys with low averages on here have got there by repeatedly playing the same low wind tourney over and over again and their stats show they dont play all the courses,

Matchplay is where it's at, all on the line with no restart button, happy hitting guys.

Yes this is true too m8... Apart from my Social Club games, I only play the Ready Go's mostly.. which means, I only play the one's that i think I can get back credits for... At the moment is Cabo and Beth. Comps with Low-Med winds are the ones I enter and green speeds don't worry me. High Winds are the comps I stay away from...18 holers are a pain.. I can never put two 9 holes together...lol

I don't play many Multi Player games, but enjoy em thoroughly when I do...  when it comes to Matchplay games, I can be hard to beat..some of the time...lol

What Priestess said is spot on.  I have played with most of the best players on WGT and I can play with them tee to green.  If you look at the stats of the great players, you will see that their putting is where they excel.  I spot Bollie, I think .2 per putt which equates to almost four stroke on 18 holes, pretty much the difference in our average.  I slog away shooting 63 to 66 in a normal round but once in a while I hit a hot putting streak and put up a number in the 50's.  I qualified for the Open at 54 this year with 14 straight birdies after starting the first four holes in 2 under.  Putting is the key to going low.

To the OP all I can say is I can shoot 58s regularly from the legend tees with a meter that spikes at least 5 times per side.  Give me a smooth meter and I'll provide you some consistent scores that'll really make you shake your head.

With the new equipment, there are very few holes that CAN'T be birdied.  I really miss the g10s because you had to use more imagination to get em close.  WGT had to release better equipment because they fouled up by letting tour masters and below have the same equipment as legends so I get why they gave us the sticks we have now.  Only point to make out of all that is that it's really not hard for several players with exceptional memory and hand eye coordination to regularly shoot 56 from the back tees.  Move us up a tee box and you see 52s.

And just for the record, Avlee shot a 52 on BPB from the up tees with g10s almost 2 years ago.  Very attainable these days for players not half as good as Lee.

I agree with everything you said Jake, as you said Wgt fouled up with the letting everybody have good clubs, which I don't really mind.

Maybe Wgt can make a major change again so buying new or better clubs can be Tier based again instead of Level based. This will stop Multi-Accounting and also Sandbagging... Not too late to make a change :)

It's about the $$$$$, not integrity. Multi-accounts = multi-purchases, baggers buying the spendy clubs = more cash in the bank account, to believe otherwise is (sadly) very naive. It's all about the bottom line, nothing more.
