@BlackBogey: I appreciate your response and am open with much doubt to the notion maybe WGT doesn’t game the system by seeding coin rooms with paid players. But as for players gaining tier status by playing coin rooms only, with all due respect I can say that it simply isn’t true. At least for me it’s not. Just have a look at my stats and you’ll see that I’ve played a “ton” of them. It’s basically all I do anyway. My average score doesn’t go down, I’m still at Legend. So that means it’s something else. Out of curiosity I peeked at your stats and your total game count is far lower than mine. And you are a Champion. I’m sure that you got there by skill alone, too. But there’s plenty of others who found a “cheat”, can play very few total games and skyrocket up the ranks. Being up front here: I wouldn’t mind knowing how to cheat. If a huge number of players are getting away with it, then so can I. All’s fair, you know.
I am Champ as you point out, but far from what I would consider "skilled", which should be obvious since you've seen my stats. I got there the "normal" way of playing a lot of Ranked Rounds. You will never find me in coin rooms (unless it's a daily/weekly goal, Showdown, or occasionally I'll jump in to help in a TW, although not too often) and I seldom play Practice rounds that don't count for average or saturation, (of which you have over 16000). I primarily play the WGT weekly/monthly tournaments, Brackets and Ready-Gos. I got promoted from TM to L and L to TL a little prematurely by winning a few of the Weekly events in a short time period. But I was well over saturation by the time I moved from TL to Champ because my average just wasn't low enough and I don't like to play a lot of "Red Tee" CC events to artificially lower it.
People can and do get promoted from playing only coin rooms. WGT is not seeding the coin rooms and people who Tier up via that route are not "cheating". They just play almost strictly all coin games and are really good - consistently beating higher Tiers and having a substantially high win percentage overall. I get that you've been playing a "ton" of coin games, but if you also play (or have played) a certain percentage of ranked rounds (you have almost 5500), that RR algorithm where you need a certain amount of RRs plus a certain average will rule out over the coin room algorithm. Your current average of 64.86 is nearly 5 strokes away from what is needed, and as long as you continue to play primarily coin games your average isn't going to drop. If you play only coin games going forward, eventually you'll probably Tier up that way, but no one can say when since you also have a large amount of RRs in the mix.
