I struggle to understand how your overall ranking of 932 is based on who you get paired against? Overall ranking is based on your point total for the entire event, not how you fare in wins vs loss totals against other clubs in each 4 hour session. So play as much as you can and as well as you can and you'll still move up the leaderboard, regardless of who you're playing against. I try to explain this to members in our club a lot. I'll see one of them comment that "We're up a good amount this match so I'll just wait". Truth is, the points each player adds all count the same in the end, whether you win or lose that particular session, so the more you can play the more you can contribute to the overall ranking.
If you only scored 142, it's not going to matter if you played against #3 or #633 for that 4 hours, you just don't have the number of players participating yet, and that's proven out by your 932 ranking. You mention you are encouraging your members to play more, and that's the best way to move up. In the match against #3, even if you'd put 1,142 instead of 142 you would still have got whooped that 4 hours, but in the end it would've helped your overall ranking. Our clubs are very similar in size, number of players at each Tier, etc... We manage to finish in the top 75-100 almost every time and do absolutely no encouraging or prodding anyone to play who doesn't want to.
